Servants rush around the Red Keep trying to get everything in order for the feast being held later this evening in celebration of my father’s name day. I’m whisked out of the castle followed by guards who escort me to my carriage. There’s three raps on the wood before we jolt forward venturing into the city.
My father insisted I come to the tourney even though I personally have no taste for it. Instead, I would have been content to host a great ball that lasted days. I sigh and look out the window watching the common folk slowly make their way to the tourney grounds. I don’t think I’ll ever understand what all these people see in such brazen acts of violence, and in the name of my father of all people.
The carriage slows as we push through the tourney grounds opening gates. We come to a stop near the entrance and my door opens. My guard escorts me through the doors and up the stairs to find my seat.
“Come, you’ll sit in front of me and your father.” my mother waves her hand to me.
I sigh as I make my way to the front row of chairs. I know these are the best seats but I have no idea why my parents would think I would want them. I look across the arena and see the seats quickly filling up. My father pats my shoulder on his arrival as he places his hands on the rails to begin making the opening announcement.
“Welcome and thank you all for joining the celebrations for my name day. Good luck to the brave knights, may you fight and win with honor!” my fathers raises his hands and the crowd begins to erupt.
As my father makes his way back to my mother the first two knights are called to the sands. After I hear him sigh and take his seat I allow myself to look off into the clouds and daydream. I lean back in my chair and to anyone else I look as if I’m enjoying the fight but instead I’m dreaming of flying through the clouds on dragonback.
The duels continue as I let my mind drift away. The clashes of swords are turned into dragon songs and the shouts form commands. The announcer calls two new knights to the sands and the crowd goes hushed as a third knight enters the sands.
“Is he mad for coming here?” my fathers voice breaks through as he speaks to his guard.
I shake my head and scan the sands in front of me. The only thing that seems to be happening is the announcer speaking to the third knight. I tilt my head studying them as my father hushes his quick words to the guard. I gasp and grab my chest as the knight strikes the announcer in the face, who falls to the sand not getting up. Guards rush to the announcer as the knight stalks over to us.
“Brother,” the knights deep voice carries up to us. “I will have a place at this tournament.” he points his sword up to the box.
“Go back to Dragonstone, Maegor.” my father calls down to him.
I scoot up to the edge of my seat to try and look upon my uncle. I haven’t seen him in ages but it seems if his temperament hasn’t changed. I lean forward and peek over the rails at him as he rips his helmet off and throws it up at my father. My father ducks barely escaping the flying metal but trips over me in the process.
“Guards, get Y/n out of here.” my father fumes as he rises once more.
I’m pulled up by my arms and I quickly turn to look down at Maegor before they hide me away. Our eyes lock on one another quickly before the guard harshly pulls my arm, jerking my body. Maegors eyes narrow on the guard who’s currently tugging me away from him.
“You let that man handle her like that?” Maegors voice rumbles against the walls.
The guard pulls me down the stairs and we hear continued shouts coming from the hall. Loud footsteps stomp down the stairs and the guard begins to pull me away even faster. I sigh in relief as my carriage makes its way into my sight and I practically sprint to it. The guards hand loosens as hear a slash of metal through bone.
For a moment my breathing stops as I think I’ve been struck as I felt the shutter of the blade. My eyes widen as I turn and take in the scene. Maegor is standing there holding Blackfyre with the guards blood dripping off of it. I look down to my arm as the guards dismembered arm falls to the ground. My eyes then travel to the guard who is on the ground in a state of panic and shock before he goes completely still.
“He should not have touched you like that.” Maegor sheaths his sword, looking to the body at his feet with disgust.
“Uncle,” my voice trembles as steps over the guard and comes to tower over me.
“You’ve become so beautiful, Y/n.” he brings fingers to ghost over my cheek.
My breathing intensifies at his gentle touch after he showed such violence. My eyes dart to the body behind him and he grabs my chin and forces me to look to him. His smile borderline predatory as he begins to lean down. My eyes go wide the closer his mouth comes to mine until he turns his head quickly to whisper something into my ear.
“Maegor you bull, what have you done?” my fathers voice booms behind us as he looks in horror at the guard.
“Did you not see the way your own guard was pulling her. She’ll have bruises come morning. Is this how a Princess should be treated?” he turns to my father tilting his head.
“Please do not use my daughter as an excuse for your wanton brutality.” my father storms over to him.
“Aenys, you don’t want this fight.” Maegors hands go to my father’s shoulders.
I don’t know what leads me to do it, but I place my hand on Maegors arm. He turns and looks down to me curiously as he allows me to remove his hands from my father. I turn to my father who looks from where my hand is placed on Maegor to me.
“Daughter, step away from him.” my father warns.
My hand slips from his armor as I slowly step back to my carriage. Maegor watches every step I take as my father watches him. I slip into the carriage and shut the doors behind me. I sigh out in relief and slide down into my pillowed seats.
The carriage begins to move and I look out my window to see Maegor watching as I’m pulled back through the city. I begin to fan myself off hoping the adrenaline will start to wash away. I find myself blushing at his words of calling me beautiful even though I shouldn’t. I’ve always secretly wished he would see me in that light instead of a child. His temper terrifies me, but Gods he is so handsome.
Once we make it through the gates of the Red Keep I’m escorted directly to my chambers. I huff claiming a chair not wanting to be sequestered here all day. After an hour I pick up a book to hopefully lose myself to another world until the feast begins.
⊹₊⋆☁︎⋆⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺₊⋆☁︎⋆₊ ⊹ ⊹₊⋆☁︎⋆⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺₊⋆☁︎⋆₊ ⊹ ⊹₊⋆☁︎⋆⁺₊⋆
“Princess,” my mother’s soft voice lulls me out of my nap.
“No, did I miss the feast?” I quickly rise from the chair in a panic.
“I’ve come to check on you and to see if you still wanted to attend after today’s events.” she grabs my hand to rub soothing circles on it.
“Of course I want to go to the feast. They have been making my gown for almost a full moon.” I whine.
“I figured as much.” she chuckles as she goes to the doors to allow my handmaidens flood in.
I’m quickly stripped of my dress and lead over to the bath. Lavish oils and soaps are brought out and I hum in relaxation as I’m pampered to. My hair begins to be brushed and secured out of my face by a pale pink ribbon. I rise out of the tub when the water turns tepid and begin to dry off. I’m offered a new slip that seems to be made of the same silk as my ribbon.
I gasp as my gown is brought in for me to finally look upon. The gown is white but with all of the beading it looks as if it’s the soft pink of a morning sunrise. It fits closer to my body than I had originally thought but when looking in the mirror I admire it even more. The beads fade into crystals that flow up the neckline. They offer me a close fitting crystal necklace that brings out the rest of the details in the gown. After they place my earrings I’m guided out of my chambers and down to the dining hall.
“You look absolutely lovely.” my mother smiles as I join her on the dias.
“They outdid themselves with this gown.” I look down to admire it.
I take a sip of wine and take in the life and merriment around me. I look down to my father who seems happy enough but I can still see the lingering frustration. Servants come out and fill our plates once everyone has found their seats. The doors to the hall groan open and my father’s face turns red as Maegor saunters in.
“May I sit next to you, Y/n.” Maegor licks his lips looking down at me.
I nod my head as he pulls the chair out loudly next to me. Servants rush to fill his cup with wine as he continues to look at me. I feel my cheeks heat and I quickly turn back to my plate. I can feel my father’s eyes on me but I don’t have the courage to look anywhere besides my plate.
“You look ravishing in this dress.” Maegor purrs lowly.
“Thank you,” I murmur willing my cheeks not to tint as I take a sip of wine.
“Will you let me take it off of you later?” I cough at his low his words.
“Are you okay, Y/n?” my fathers voice laced with worry at my sudden coughing fit.
“Yes,” I nod clearing my throat attempted to offer him a smile.
My father huffs as we return to our meal. It seems as if the whole hall is blind to the tension radiating from our table. Laughter and toasts are shouted across the hall and all I can think of is Maegor who has slowly been inching his chair closer to mine. I try to ignore his closeness until his thigh is pressed against mine.
“Is there something you needed?” I turn and blink up at him.
“You,” his voice low as he looks down at me with dark eyes.
“Maegor-“
“Come, let’s dance.” he rises above me and offers me his hand and I can see my father turn to us with a scrunched brow.
I place my hand in his palm as his fingers engulf mine. He pulls me down to dance as a new song begins. He pulls me flush against his body and I squeak in surprise. His hand continues to hold mine while his other goes firmly to my lower back. My hand rises to his chest as I look up to him.
He holds me possessively as he stares down any man who looks too closely. My eyes land on my father who is currently seething next to my mother who looks worried. I squirm in Maegors arms as his fingers trail up my spine and bury themselves into my hair. He tilts my head so I’m looking up at him as a smirk spreads across his face.
“You’re going to ruin my hair.” I whine breathlessly.
“Apologies,” he chuckles as his hand slides down to rest on my neck.
We continue to sway to the music and I allow my hand to travel across the expanse of muscle that is his chest. I can feel the dips and definitions through his doublet and can’t begin to imagine what they look like in all their glory. I feel his laugh rumble in his chest before I hear it. I tilt my head as I look up to him.
“Do you enjoy my muscles?” he smiles down at me.
“You’re just so strong.” I whisper as I squeeze his bicep allowing my hands to travel the muscle hidden beneath his sleeves shamelessly.
I gasp as he lifts me into the air as my hands wrap around his neck. He begins to walk towards the main doors while I look over his shoulder and see my father shoot to his feet. He looks to us in confusion and doubt until he sees our path is to exit. He shouts to the guards but it’s too late. I can’t help the excitement and adrenaline that flows through me.
He gets us out of the Keep through a back way I’ve never seen or heard of. Before I know it he’s pulling us on a horse and racing us to the outskirts of the city. I feel the low grumbling of the ground before my feet even touch it as Maegor lifts me back to the ground. My breath escapes me as I behold Balerion.
“Maegor,” I look to him with wide eyes.
“You’ll always be safe when you’re with me.” his words are soft as he begins ushering me over to the rope to climb his massive dragon.
He climbs directly behind of me which offers me some semblance of comfort. As I reach the saddle my head spins as I look down. Maegor settles behind me and quickly grabs the reins. Balerion rises to his full height as I tremble in his arms. He begins to break into a run as we start to take flight.
⊹₊⋆☁︎⋆⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺₊⋆☁︎⋆₊ ⊹ ⊹₊⋆☁︎⋆⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺₊⋆☁︎⋆₊ ⊹ ⊹₊⋆☁︎⋆⁺₊⋆
We are soon circling Dragonstone as Balerion lets out a fearsome growl. As he descends on the rocky shore some of them begin shaking in his presence. Once we settle I soon realize he wasn’t just shaking the ground, he was waking Vhagar. Gods these dragons make the Red Keep look like a cottage.
Once we make it to the sands he grabs my hand and we begin our walk into the castle. As we make it to the main doors I begin to make out the image of Visenya. She smiles to me but glares to Maegor.
“What have you done, you fool?” she looks to him.
“Found a bride. You told me I should marry and secure my line.” he shrugs as I gape at him.
“It seems as if this is the first time your bride is hearing of this.” he replies curtly.
“Well I planned to woo her with my tongue for a couple of hours before I asked.” his words cause a blush to creep up my neck.
“Must you be so foul?” Visenya scoffs at him. “What is your plan for when Aenys comes to get her?” he raises her eyebrows.
“He’d be a fool to face me. We will be wed on the morrow. He can’t take my wife away from me.” he pulls me closer to his side.
My head is spinning with this discussion. I feel as if I don’t have a say in the matter but I’m not upset at the outcome. I worry for what my father and mother will think but they’ve been asking me to marry for years. I shake my head trying to bring myself back to the present as Maegor begins pulling me into the castle.
He rushes us up the stairs and seals us behind a set of double doors. He turns and stalks over to me grabbing at my waist and pulling me to him. He looks down to me as his hands move to the back of my gown.
“Do not rip this gown Maegor. It took almost a moon to make.” I try to make my voice sound firm.
“Mm,” his fingers begin to slowly unlace the back of my gown.
His fingers ghost along my back as he loosens the gown. He steps back and pushes the gown down my shoulders causing it to pool around my feet. I’m left in my silk slip and I begin to feel as if I’m left in nothing by the way he’s looking at me. One of his hands goes to my hair and pulls the ribbon out causing my hair to cascade down my back.
“Do you always match your hair piece with your slip?” he asks lowly as he trails the ribbon along my arm.
I shake my head not trusting my words as I shiver under his touch. His hand travels back down to my waist and splays across my bare thigh. I look up to him with low lids as his hand begins to move to my inner thighs. I grab on tightly to his arm as he trails a finger along my slit. My breaths come out in pants as he continues his journey through my wetness.
“On the bed.” he looks down to me as he removes his hands.
I compose myself enough to turn and walk to the bed. I crawl to the middle of the bed and lay on my back as he begins to crawl over me. His hand trails up my body with my ribbon following. He dips down and when I think he’s finally about to kiss me he whispers into my ear.
“Hands above your head.” I whimper at his words and do as I’m told.
He brings my ribbon up to my wrists and secures them to the headboard before he rises above me. He looks at me with a sinister smirk and I clench my thighs in anticipation. He hums as he looks at me completely at his will. He stalks around the bed looking at me before he settles next to me.
His hands trail up my bare leg as he lifts my slip with his hands and bunches it up above my breasts. He groans as he takes in my body and his hands begin to travel over every inch of skin. My eyes shut as his hands continue to snake around my body pulling soft whines from me.
“Maegor,” his name falls from my mouth as he pinches one of my nipples between his rough fingers.
“Mm, you like a little pain?” he coos as his other hand cups my other breast roughly.
A moan tears through me as I squeeze my legs shut. He chuckles lowly as I begin to feel his beard across my chest as he sucks one of my nipples into his mouth. My chest arches up into his mouth as his teeth tease my sensitive bud.
“We’re going to have a lot of fun.” he says arrogantly as he blows on my nipple.
He trails sloppy kisses down my torso and begins to pepper kisses along my hips. My hips jerk up as his tongue begins to dance on my hot skin. He spreads my thighs and groans as he’s greeted by my wet core. He dives down and his tongue begins to lap at my clit. My hands tug at the headboard causing it to groan as he chuckles into me.
My hips grind against his face seeking more pleasure until his hands land on my hips stilling me. He attacks my clit with his tongue as a moan tears through me as pleasure bursts through my body. He looks up to me from between my thighs licking his lips.
My chest is rapidly rising and falling between us and he dips back down to my sensitive core. He offers soft licks at my clit sending jolts through my body as he teases a finger at my entrance. He slowly pushes a thick finger into me ripping a moan from my lips.
“Maegor, please,” I whine as he slowly starts to pump his finger slowly.
His tongue swirls against my clit as his finger starts a fast rhythm. My thighs try to close around his head again but this time he ignores it as he focuses on my pleasure. As my whimpers fall faster he slowly starts to add a second finger. I cry out as I clench around his fingers and allow him to pull pleasure from my body.
His name is the only word that falls from my lips as I come undone around his fingers. He continues pumping into me as my legs quake around him. He pulls back and hoovers above me with a wet beard. My legs shut once he rises off the bed and I look to him with low lids.
“You will be my wife.” It is a statement as he pulls off his shirt.
“Yes,” I nod still trying to catch my breath as I drink in his bare chest and the muscles that he’s showing off.
“Say it.” he says lowly as he begins to unlace his trousers.
“I will be your wife.” my voice unwavering.
He pushes his trousers the rest of the way down and crawls above me on the bed. His hands spread open my thighs once more as he settles between them. I gasp as I feel him glide through my wetness. He dips down and I crane my neck hoping to finally kiss him. He smiles and pulls back much to my frustration.
“Maegor,” I whine.
“Yes?” he chuckles as he kisses across my chest and makes his way to my neck.
“Untie me, please, I want to touch you.” my voice needy as I arch my body into his.
“Since you asked so nicely.” he sucks on my neck as he slowly unties my wrists.
My hands fly to his bare skin caressing and feeling every muscle I can reach. His hips slowly rock into mine causing him to slide against my clit. My nails dig into his shoulder as he bites down onto my neck. He raises his head above mine and I move my hands to his neck to hopefully pull him down into a kiss.
The second his lips touch mine I melt into him completely. My fingers travel to his short locks as I pull him closer to me. Maegor groans as he slowly begins to push into me as a sigh falls from my lips. I’ve never felt this full before. He looks down at me with a furrowed brow and I can tell he’s holding back until I can fully adjust. Once it becomes tolerable I move my hips and he snaps his back into mine.
His pace is brutal that has my eyes rolling into the back of my head. Moans and whimpers fall from my lips as he pounds into me seeking pleasure. His lips find mine again and his tongue begins to lash against mine. He pulls back and looks at my face as his fingers begin to circle my clit.
“Maegor, Maegor please,” I sob as I come around him while he continues to push into me.
His lips crash to mine roughly as his hips repeatedly snap into mine. His teeth catch my bottom lip as I cry out. My fingers claw at his arms for support as he continues to pull pleasure from me. His trusts become sloppy as his fingers make their way back to my clit again. My vision blurs as I explode around him once more. He settles deep in me as I feel him begin to fill me.
“So fucking good for me. My perfect Princess.” he grunts as he continues to grind his hips into mine.
“My husband,” my words barely audible as I continue to cling to him.
He flips us over remaining in me saying he wants to be as close as possible. My body and mind too tired, I simply let my eyes flutter shut as I drift off to sleep.

I wanted to make a last-minute prediction post based on what I’ve seen so far. I haven’t looked at new Dragon Age news for the past couple (3? 4?) weeks, and I know I’m (on purpose to avoid spoilers) missing some (probably a lot of) details that other people already know. I DON’T WANT TO KNOW. So if I’m already right or wrong about something,
PLEASE please DON’T TELL ME.
You can come back in a month and tell me THEN. It’s just one more month to wait.
Also, this is just for fun, and it’s not serious. It’s based on vibes and also based on what I would write myself. I have developed a surprisingly specific image of what might happen to Solas and I’m just want to write it down.
I’m thinking “there is no possible way this is right………” but then I’m like “unless…..?” so a vague chance of potential spoilers
First, I’ve been suspicious about the elven gods getting free and Solas being trapped. If you think about what Solas says in Trespasser, it’s very
Part of Solas’ aim that has so far been revealed to us is he likely wants the Veil torn down, and one of the only things that is keeping him from that is the reality of the elven gods trapped in there, who would be released.
Inquisitor: “If you destroyed the Veil, wouldn’t the false gods be freed?”
Solas: “I had plans.”
But that is no longer a concern from that moment in the gameplay trailer where they are released.
“I intend to restore them. Doing so will most likely destroy your world.”
Two elven gods rampaging across Thedas sounds like the kind of “the world is being destroyed” situation Solas was talking about. It is his incision that breached their prison, and it isn’t impossible that Rook may have been almost manipulated into completing it. I wonder if Solas is playing his two sets of enemies against each other yet again?
In the old tales, Solas uses his enemies to fight each other while he is tied to a tree, trapped. He gives both sides equal advice until they are both defeated, at which point he frees himself and finishes what he set out to do.
Honestly, even though he’s “trapped,” it sounds exactly like the sort of thing that needs to happen for his work to continue.
(All of this is speculation that I think I’ll have a better idea about once I hear the full first conversation with him, and exactly how he words his point of view of what happened. If he’s very squirrelly in his wording, I’ll know he may have caused it on purpose.)
“I seek regeneration,” he said in Vows & Vengeance. The devs had said that Solas has been bringing back magic for centuries before the series even started. Perhaps it explains why the dragons have returned. It seems that his reshaping the world, regenerating it, will be successful because it seems to be moving steadily without him. So maybe this is a last and, once in motion, inevitable step in “healing” the injured world.
I think that the elven gods are very scary and world-ending, but Solas is the only one of them that reshaped the world successfully. He will be the one to do it again, not Ghilan’nain or Elgar’nan or any other god. He is a trickster his, and Tricksters are the Gods of Inevitable (otherwise catastrophic) Change.
One of the greatest criticisms of Inquisition was the lack of screen time Corypheus had. And how the climax fell flat at the end because he didn’t have enough screen time. This leads me to believe that Solas may be the “Last Boss” of DA4. Because we definitely HAVE a complicated satisfying personal relationship with him that has been set up for two whole games.
So the ending for Solas needs to do a lot of things:
“These are the times in which legends are born or slain” Solas as the Dread Wolf will die
It needs to work for both people who love and hate Solas
In order to defeat the Elven Gods, Rook has to find their weakness, which is Solas’ weakness too (maybe a fatal flaw, or how they can be truly killed) so it can be used on Solas too. Perhaps this will involve Solas trying to obscure this from Rook as best as he can
Solas fully is on Rook’s side against the evanuris, but when they’re taken care of, he doesn’t need to team up anymore
I don’t believe that you will be able to stop Solas’ plans, and I hope that they will change Thgedas’ world no matter what. I hope it’s just a fact of life that the Veil comes down
The story basically needs to involve Solas betraying Rook again, because new players need to experience that feeling in order to be in the same place with him as they were in DA3
It needs to give players a torn situation about him, one that makes you feel he’s reasonable but at the same time make it satisfying to fight him. So I believe this is why he will betray the player again, even if he is getting along with them.
I believe there needs to be a boss fight against Solas because he does have a cool big monster form and people have been promised to be able to kill him
It needs to be satisfying for those who romanced him too, but it also needs to be beautifully sad because part of the draw of the romance compared to all the others in the series is that it’s beautifully sad
For that reason, I suspect (not because I particularly want this to happen, I’m just saying what I see most likely) is that fighting and killing Solas may not actually be optional, and he is killed in every worldstate. This way, everyone gets a last boss fight and everyone experiences pretty much the same story without much branching
I think the difference between friendly and unfriendly version may be whether he is brought back to life by the efforts of those who care about him after he is killed
So basically:
Veil comes down/magic comes back
Solas helps Rook take down evanuris
Solas betrays Rook when it seems the story should be over
Boss fight with Solas as the Dread Wolf (see: my Tulpa Theory)
Solas is defeated and killed
Story ends there if Solas is hated, (story about Rook getting revenge)
If Solas is loved, Solas is brought back and rebirthed in another freer form through a spirit ritual, perhaps as Wisdom, but some part of it is bittersweet like Rose and Doctor 10 (story about regret).
But basically, no matter how Solas and Lavellan’s story ends, their love enduring will be the path to joy, or them being together. Rook can kill Solas and Lavellan can bring him back. Even if it has to just happen off-screen or in fanfic.
I think it is very likely that Solas kills Varric or another character as a way to transition from passive threat to active threat. Or maybe Rook is responsible because of the theme of regret, idk. But I think we’ll get a great cathartic end for Varric probably.
I think we may have to choose between Varric and the Inquisitor, because it’s similar to the Hawke-Alistair choice
I would be very surprised if the story ended with Solas and Lavellan went off into the sunset together in a perfectly happy ending with nothing bittersweet. But sadly, I don’t really see this happening and I think bittersweet may be the name of the game.
Other things I predict:
We can assume that the Inquisitor will have an optional death scenario when they reappear, where we choose either to let them sacrifice themselves in some way, or save them. So perhaps there is an ending where Solas and Lavellan die together and can be free as spirits, which would also be bittersweet.
I don’t really have predictions for anything but Solas, so the big lore reveals might change the situation so much that none of this applies or makes sense anymore. In which case I will probably be HAVING FUN.
I am not EXPECTING any of this to happen, I am just writing it down and posting it in case I’m right. Anyway please wait until I’m done playing to tell me if I’m right or wrong, and this is just for fun, I wouldn’t mind if the whole game was completely different.

Hey could you write like a Thranduil x y/n thing? I kinda need it right now.
No Escape
Thranduil x reader fan fic
Imagine : If only you didn’t look so similar to his passed wife, maybe you could have made it out of the elven kingdom with the others.
Authors note : im sorry ive been gone so long, im back now though I promise. Ill set up a new masterlist and we can all forget my old works don’t exist because I hate them all.
The forest was so dark, you and the rest of the company trying to navigate through the winding trails. It was all going fine and well until you all realized you were gong in continuous circles. Seeing the same trees, the same oddly shaped rocks over and over that you all realized something was wrong. “lets just set up camp for now and try again tomorrow.” You insisted, noticing the frustration of the others. “Fine,” Thorin conceded. “We get out of here tomorrow though, we have to keep pushing forwards.”
With that you all settled down for the night, you went off to gather some wood for a fire with Bilbo, unsurprisingly your favourite of the company given how down to earth he was, plus the pure entertainment factor he brought to the group at times due to his cushioned upbringing. “Do you think we actually will get out tomorrow?” Bilbo asked, clearly more worried if that could be the case than he let on. “’course we will, we’ve gotten this far haven’t we?” You reassured, patting the top of Bilbo’s head in hopes of calming his anxiety. “I suppose so.” He mused, adding another stick to the bundle you had already gathered. “Exactly,” You said with a warm smile. “Nothing left to bring us down now except the dragon.” Bilbo seemed to grimace at this. “Don’t remind me” He grumbled. You just laughed lightly. “You’re far too negative, always hope for the best, and prepare for the worst. That’s why you’re here, you little burglar.” “I’m not a burglar.” He reminded. “Well, you’re the best we’ve got, maybe when we’re out of this forest I can help train you how to be stealthy.”
The light banter between the two is quickly cut off by a very loud thump against the forest floor, almost shaking the ground between the pair of you. You immediately dropped the pile of branches to the moss ground, breaking into a sprint back to the others, you could here them in the distance fighting when you’re path was blocked by the biggest spider you’ve ever seen in your life. It was a large black, hairy thing, immediately trying to shoot webs in your direction to catch you. Adrenalin jumped you into first gear, dodging by a hair at the first shot, and bringing your bow and arrow from your back to aim at the spider, aiming right between the eyes and firing the shot. The shot lands. The spider falls, only for three more to appear in its place. This was not going to be easy.
You reach back grabbing another arrow and letting it fly, hitting each spider as they came with pristine accuracy. Even with such accuracy though from years training, it didn’t seem to be enough. The arrows quickly started to dwindle, before running out. Not having enough time between spiders to scavenge for your arrows, leaving you eventually cornered, and empty handed. Though just as one of the spiders went to launch itself at you it got violently thrown backwards by...an elf?
~~~~~
You couldn’t decide whether you preferred the spiders, or this. Getting dragged, cuffed, towards a rathe impressive looking castle. Not that you’d ever say that allowed, in fear of further angering Thorin who already looked like he was plotting the elves deaths in detail, shouting, swearing and struggling as he went. You kept your head down, not sure what was about to happen, but not wanting to anger the elves, especially after they went out of their way to save their lives. Even if it meant they’d ended up getting dragged to the dungeons. You had graciously been given a cell alone. Given you were the only woman in the group it seemed only fair. You got yourself comfy against the wall, listening to the others chat amongst themselves on what to do, waiting for a quiet moment to bring up what felt like the most important thing to worry about. “Where is Bilbo?” You said, cutting through the whispers. The others immediately went silent at that. He wasn’t among them, you hadn’t seen him since before the spiders. “Maybe he’s doing what he does best, burgling the keys.” Baldin grunted. You just hoped he was right.
All talk of escape was cut off by guards coming down, leading Thorin from his cell to meet the king. When the dungeon door closed behind them all of you sighed. If Thorin was angry, which he was, all hope of doing this civilly was going to be immediately snuffed out by his rage. The wait for Thorin to come back was long, and silent. Talk of escape had died completely as you all waited tensely for him to return. And return he did. His eyebrows furrowed in rage, cursing under his breath as he was pushed back into his cell resulting in a loud bang as his body collided with the floor. No words needed to be spoken for them to know it hadn’t gone well. The already depressing reality hit like a train. Unless a miracle happened. This was it.
~~~~~~~
You woke up the next morning to banging against the bars of your cell. You were crumpled against the wall, your back strained from the position you’d slept in. “Get up.” The guard said gruffly, starting to poke you with the sheathed sword to fully wake you up. “Get up!” The demanded again, much more aggressively than previously. You slowly started more your cramped body up off of the floor. The cell door opened and two guards immediately grabbed your arms ad started dragging you out of the dungeon to who knows where. The walk was long and winding, it felt like they were taking you on a confusing route on purpose to make sure you didn’t know the way out. Or maybe the halls really were this confusing, who knows. Either way you eventually arrived at a rather impressive looking door. Large green wooden panels made up the door with large tree roots encasing the doors, twirling around the doors handles.
Someone from the other side opened the doors leading to what seemed to be a throne room, with a tall blonde haired man sat on top, a rather dramatic crown upon his head, adorned with gems and jewels to mimic a berry branch. He watched closely as you were dragged in, forced to kneel down in front of him on the ground. His expression seemed to change from mild annoyance to surprise as you got closer. Now kneeled before him, the man stood, towering over you as he stared down at your face, almost like he didn’t believe it. “Oh, it’s you” He said, relief and sadness laced his voice. His legs seemed to give out under him and kneeled down staring at your face with tears in his eyes. “Oh my dear, how I’ve missed you. I though- I thought you died.” He said, his voice cracking slightly as his hand reached for your cheek, fingertips gently grazing your cheek. You stared at him blankly. Not a flicker of recognition behind your eyes as he acted as if you were supposed to know him. Confusion took over his features at your lack of response. “Calatheil? My blossom, why are you acting like you don’t know me?” Now it was your turn to be confused, “That’s not my name, I’m (Y/N).” You said in response. The man went quiet after that, staring holes into the floor. “But you look like her.” He said, his voice firm, like it was a fact. “That doesn’t mean I am her”
The man went silent again for a moment, anger passing over his face before disappearing. “Of course it does,” He said. “You’ve just forgotten is all.” His words were firm and absolute. “Ill just need to remind you, my poor wife” You looked at him as if he was insane. “But I’m not. I am not your wife, I’m sorry. But I’m not... I wanna go back to my cell now.” The man laughed without humour. “Absolutely not, my wife shouldn’t be around such vermin.” “Do you mean the dwarves?” you asked, going on the defensive, they were your friends, were they odd absolutely, but that didn’t mean you loved them any less. “Of course I do! You’ll be going no where near them ever again. Guards, take her to my room, and do not under any circumstances let her get free!” He ordered, standing up from his crouched position and heading back to his thrown. “And bring me Thorin! I may be inclined to allow his freedom under a condition.” You were once again grabbed by guards and dragged out. “No! I’d rather cells, don’t you dare, I’m not your wife! Let me go!” Your shouts died down as you were dragged further away, thrashing in an attempt of any escape, managing to get one arm free only for more guards to hold you, overpowered once more by the numbers. The struggling silenced to Thranduil as the door shut behind you.

May I ask
Which characters will include in the primal moon scenario ?
Essentially, whichever characters I can think of scenarios for- writing Monkiefam was pretty easy, because monkeys have complex hierarchies to draw from. I spent a while observing different species at a local zoo (they’re mean. God, they’re so mean.) and decided to write a fic based on the behaviors I saw. (I’ll post that video at the bottom!)
Despite their status as the lowest ranked member of the ‘troop’, Wukong sees Y/N as his biological child. He won’t listen to any arguments about the difference in age or species, no matter what evidence is presented to refute him. Macaque is seen as his ‘little brother’, their rivalry temporarily forgotten. (Though only on Wukong’s end.)
The Great Sage is just lucid enough to recognize MK as his cherished student, and tries to give him advice… but his mind is a little too muddled by viridescence to offer anything sound. He also accidentally enables the worst of Primal!MK’s traits by complimenting and comforting him whenever things go wrong.
He’s thankfully rather laidback about the whole thing, only getting violent when he feels that his ‘family’ or status are threatened.
Macaque returns to his long-forgotten docile demeanor, a remnant of his days as a member of the Sworn Brotherhood- though he tries to fight the shift. It butchers the simian’s pride to resume a position of submissiveness, especially now that it’s to two people- one of whom may well be a teenager. Also, he’s sincerely desperate for comfort and companionship, so he spends most of the week fighting himself to not participate in any bonding activities.
He’ll make a ‘rank-scaling’ attempt or two, only to get beaten down and potentially pushed behind even Y/N in terms of status if he does it enough.
Sun Wukong->MK->Macaque->Y/N is the troop ranking, and it’s pretty rigid.
MK is, uh… in a pretty rough state. He’s never had any preparation for the Primal Moon, thinking himself a regular human for almost the entire time that he’s been alive.
———————————————————————
Honestly, it’s Tang that gives me the hardest time! assuming we can call upon his cicada ancestry, he’s- got absolutely nothing. Female cicadas use their ovipositors to slice into thin branches many times, leaving clutches of eggs as they go- that’s about as far as parental instincts go for them, given that they and the males die soon after breeding. (The males, in fact, die pretty much directly after.) I guess I’d place him with Princess Iron Fan and Ne Zha as the ‘normal’ guys.
Pigsy is, as you know- a male pig. Who are notorious piglet-killers. Eating piglets, stepping on piglets, rolling over and crushing piglets- intentionally killing entire piglet litters to force females back into estrus- it gets pretty brutal. So I still haven’t figured out what I want to do with him for this story- though I imagine he’ll be aggressive/hair-trigger, with Tang being the one thing that holds him back.
———————————————————————
Mei was pretty easy to write, but I did a lot of research on Chinese dragons in order to keep my representation of her respectful. Dragons in the west are usually reduced to bloodthirsty beasts of pride and rage- creatures to be slain and overcome as monstrous final obstacles. This portrayal even dates back to Beowulf, with the dragon portrayed then going on to characterize many dragons that came after it. (For example, Smaug was based partly on Beowulf’s dragon, and partly on Fafnir- so if any others dragons are based on Smaug, then they too call back upon the original.
In Chinese culture, dragons are considered wise and powerful beings. They’re worshipped as symbols of prosperity and good luck, and considered very auspicious beings.
So, Mei seems more composed in this AU- but it’s all an act. Given the stigma that non-humans have on account of the Primal Moon, she spends a lot of time pretending to be something that she’s not so that no one ends up being afraid. Mei’s obsession with with Y/N primarily stems from their complete acceptance of who she is, inside and out. Instead of having to pretend to be dignified and wise and rational, she gets to be the real Mei. She can goofy and energetic with you, not afraid to roughhouse or throw hands.
———————————————————————-
For Bullfam, I think Princess Iron Fan very much would be the ‘only sane man’- if two things weren’t occurring:
1. Her husband wasn’t trying to talk her into having a second child and worshipping her every step, his tongue spinning crude admirations of her beauty and battle prowess.
2. Her son wasn’t clinging to her waist and arms, begging for validation and attention, futilely trying to drag her into his workshop to compliment his blueprints and machines.
So she has her boy (after some headpats and a little bit of buttering up) run off to the surface and snatch a suitably young human who’s been left unattended, imposing them as a temporary ‘second child’ and ‘younger sibling’… before getting attached. Even though they were supposed to be disposable, she works them into a more permanent fixture of her family.
Given that Red Son is the one who picks you out, he feels a special bond with you. Instead of being more aggressive or even prouder- Red gets clingy. His desire for love and respect comes to the forefront, leading him to latch onto Y/N as tightly as possible. Hugs, headpats, back rubs, hair combing- he wants affection in as many forms as possible. I like to think he temporarily grows horns during the Primal Moon, and that he really likes having them rubbed and polished.
And as for Demon Bull King… this man is already aggressive as hell and pretty damn tempestuous, seeing red at the drop of a hat. So, with very little inhibition as is, he’s the sort of demon hit hardest. Bull King’s mental faculties degrade by a touch or two, rendering him very animalistic. He’s the opposite of Mei here- she puts herself through a ton of suppression and training and it all pays off spectacularly. He actively leans into the instincts and new power the viridescence brings, reveling in a more bestial state.
So, while Y/N openly and freely gives Mei love and affection, they instead cower and hide from Demon Bull King.
He wants more kids. Wants to spend more time with his wife. Wants to fight and break and feast. And when Y/N is abducted brought home, his aggression outright doubles. This is kinda good, though- now he’s so protective that he’s pacing the fortress in hourly patrols, wearing himself out as he digs deep grooves into the earth, carving his sigil into the stones around him many times over, marking the territory as inextricably his.
And all he wants upon returning home is a nap- with his entire family piled onto the bed, of course.
———————————————————————
Also, if anyone has recommendations for how characters should act, I’d be happy to hear them!

oh shadow dragon elf warrior?? 👀👀 say more, if you would like....
i love roman military history, i’ve been passing the time until veilguard by watching chinese period dramas full of dashing generals as male romantic leads, and the shadow dragon backstory says you were adopted into a military family. all this has been combining into some kind of murky soup in my brain for the past few weeks, and out of that soup we have eventually gotten xarius mercar, the shadow dragon elf warrior who has decided to take up residence in my mind
now i’ve been dead set on dwarf for my rook, but for shadow dragon specifically, i want to play an elf. it would feel strange to me to have two of tevinter’s anti-slavery rebels in the party and neither of them be elven, plus it gives us a city elf to contrast with our dalish companions! it adds some interest to the adoption backstory too; what kind of presumably patriotic military family from the tevinter imperium adopts an elven foundling? which (to me) is even more interesting as a non-mage, because magic might be an easy explanation for why you’d want to add someone to your family. so if you take that away, what’s left? and i do really want to play a warrior, so that works out with that and with the background of being part of a military tradition. i mentioned earlier that i think there are really exciting ways to flavour veilguard’s take on warrior for someone once trained to serve in tevinter magic-centric armies!!
i want to play xarius as a contrast to neve... she has a core of idealism and truly loves her city. he might have been raised to believe in such things, but as an elven non-mage, he’s long since been bitterly disillusioned. (tragic backstory pending, but, well, i mean, being those things in minrathous basically is a tragic backstory.) it’s dependent on if i can actually play my rook that way, of course, but i hope so. i think an elf who’s quite jaded about the current state of the world, and has seen the worst it has to offer for his people, is a fun character to have mirror and interact with solas, in that you’re kind of his exact target audience
otherwise, in terms of what i have in mind for personality, he’s definitely more of a fighter than a talker, not a diplomat at all. which may cause me problems. but he’s fiercely intelligent too, with a keen eye for strategy, so not necessarily someone who just blindly thinks with his fists either. it makes him sharply funny and quick-witted. it can also make him a little cold in his decisions, risking things others couldn’t bring themselves to risk, not giving people a second chance, very capable of thinking about the bigger picture rather than being emotionally swayed by what’s right in front of him. but at the same time, he’s super protective of the people he fights beside, because, hey, what’s even the point of playing a sword and board warrior if not. he takes being comrades-in-arms and the duty you have to each other very seriously. since he’s leading the party, they’re his responsibility. on the battlefield, but also off it he can be surprisingly gentle with them, i think
i think that’s all i have... the mercar backstory is fairly vague and i haven’t seen any in-game content that explains further so i don’t want to settle on anything much else. which means he kind of has to be more of a build-as-i-go, wait and see what the game gives me type character. but that might be the best experience for the first game where i don’t know everything abt the story in advance lmao
#i just need this game to let me give him the red cape i see in my mind’s eye and we’ll be good.#xarius mercar#veilguard spoilers#<- saying that bc im sleepy and cant remember what i just wrote in here lmao#other rooks still have a chance but i DO want to play warrior#and my brother is firmly team xarius. and he has good opinions generally.

The pain of being a book reader that’s been made into a show
The writers and directors literally have completed series in their hands. They have the writer’s feedback as well or at least they initially said so in season 1.
Why the fuck are they deviating from canon so much? I’m trying to think HOTD as high budgeted fan fiction but damn it’s so hard. You’re getting paid a lot and working on one of the most well known series and you just fuck up
I was already pissed with Aegon’s dream nonsense as well as Rhaenys bursting out of coronation just for shock value but it’s going downhill fast. That dream leads to absolutely nothing. We don’t even have NK like the GOT version in the books. Also, still prefer book version of Alicent both age and character wise.
It was so fast paced in season 1 and now they’re dragging the story. They’re also deviating from the canon a lot
Why does Alicent actually believe “that’s what Viserys wanted”? She wants the throne for her bloodline and that’s it. It’s her wish for power, not for actually believing in whatever Viserys was saying.
It also feels like Rhaenyra would be fine with Aegon’s usurping if Luke didn’t die. She is the throne. The war started when the greens hid the death of the king.
Why is Daemon tripping for so long? He took harrenhall and that’s it. He raised the armies 3 times before the Dance. He’s a fearsome and competent general but he’s basically just a random dude who took acid trips. Ryan saying Daemon doesn’t have the skill set to raise an army lmao give me a break
Perhaps, they do not want to show cruel side of Rhaenyra by ordering the death of Nettles and not harming Daemon after Mysaria told Rhaenyra? on one hand, Daemon might have cheated with Nettles, or it was father-daughter relationship like Mushroom thinks. It feels like they’re wasting our time with Daemon’s trips like him fucking his mother nonsense to erase Nettles.
Why are they trying to erase the connection between Valyrian and dragons? No normal person can bond with a dragon. Be it Valeryon or Targaryen, you need Valyrian blood. And the whole stupid “illusion” thing in the show.
They also wasted Laena so badly in season 1. If they’re all for sapphic representation instead of just creating buzz on internet, they could have gone for Laena x Rhaenyra moments. I’m not even sure if the adult versions were on screen together. Soon after we got older Laena, she died. It’s literally book canon that Rhaenyra was “very fond” of Laena. It’s also pretty much implied that there were things between them and ot3 with Daemon
Not to mention they erased the lesbian fighter character who loves killing men and kissing women. I’m talking about Sabitha (Frey) and her lover Alysanne Blackwood. Would rather (want to) see them acting like they’re “very close friends” than a Alicole sex scene
We don’t even have Daeron lol
We haven’t seen Haelena’s mourning well instead we saw random things. Blood and Cheese wasn’t even done properly. If you’re slowing down the pace and will end the Dance in season 3, at least show more of Haelena’s mourning. Show the sibling interactions between the greens.
Another thing, who the hell is Aeriana? Her?
I’m just reminded of how after the books ended, D&D took liberties with characters and we got the clusterfuck of season 7-8. Now I feel like they’ll do the same thing in season 3
And I fear what they’ll do with Aegon the conqueror. Like maybe he tricked Visenya and Rhaenys into marrying him and conquering the 7 kingdoms? Maybe the sisters didn’t want to kill but were forced to because they’re such angels? Or Visenya can’t fight well
Why does HBO keep making shows about the house it abhors?

So Jay’s yellow lightning
So I said if my last post got to 60 notes I’d actually make a post on this and a certain mutual decided to be funny. Now here I am so allow me to share my thoughts on the change of color in Jay’s lighting because BOY do I have ideas. I’d also like to state this does have spoilers for part two of season two for Dragons Rising so if you haven’t seen it, LOOK AWAY!
so as we’ve seen, Jay’s lightning changes to a yellow rather than the blue is always has been. We really get to see this in one of the newest episode of Dragons Rising during Inside the Maze. So why would his lightning change like this?? And why am I over analyzing the color of a lego’s powers?? Because I think that this color change really does have a sort of significance.
Sure you COULD argue and say that the change in color was just a stylist choice to better fit with Dragons Rising animation but I don’t think that’s all it is. If you look at this image of Jay during the flash back with him and Cole fighting over the remote, his lightning is still blue. The lightning does not flicker between blue and yellow like it has been shown during the present setting of Dragons Rising, so it doesn’t seem to just be a stylistic choice.
Now onto Agent Walker. We get a brief scene of Jay as Agent Walker during part 1 of season 2 where his powers are shown. When we do see his lightning here, we see bits of yellow in it. Remember this is now the current timeline of Dragons Rising, so there’s clearly been some sort of change between that flash back, and the merge. But even here when the yellow does first show up his lightning isn’t completely yellow, it still has more blue than yellow to it. This is before he had been ‘saved’ by Ras, when he was still apart of the Administration. Or rather before he had shattered his goodness.
Into the Maze. What an episode. We FINALLY get to see Jay use his powers in battle here. When he does make his appearance in front of the ninja, we see him show off his lightning. NOW it is more yellow than blue, and at this point Jay has not exactly shattered his goodness yet however he’s very close to that point, as when he does put the mask on and Arin exclaim he’s going to shatter his goodness, we hear Lloyd say “I’m afraid he already has.” Hm. Kind of a strange thing to say, even if he WASN’T fighting Nya at this moment, it’s still strange to hear Lloyd so quickly assume Jay has lost himself. So, Lloyd himself must have sensed or seen some sort of change indicating that Jay is different. Now onto his fight with Nya, we see him use his powers to his full extent. His lightning is almost completely yellow at this point with only small bits of blue here and there.
The wolf mask. At this point, Jay has now used the wolf mask and shatterspin, he has shattered his goodness. From this point on, his lightning is almost completely yellow as he battles with Nya. Once he loses the fight and has his powers taken, it is shown as completely yellow when Roby takes it into the Elemental Cup. Even when Nya has Jay’s powers, they are still shown as yellow however as she shoots it up into the air, it does appear to be a bit more blue once again. And how does his lighting being yellow tie into Jay’s lost goodness?
Yellow. This color can have many many different meanings and different symbolism. However, yellow has had a HISTORY of being associated with betrayal. In history with the Spanish Inquisition, in religious history, yellow has always been connected to betrayal. People seen as traitors were tied to the color yellow. What else can yellow also tie to? Warnings and danger. The gradual change of Jay’s lighting becoming more and more yellow, Jay is coming closer and closer to losing himself. Yellow is a perfect color to use for Jay in his current state in Ninjago. It’s a bright color that grabs attention, bur can be almost overwhelming or even abrasive at times.
On a final note about his change from blue to yellow, let’s focus in on not the gain of yellow, but the loss of blue in his lighting. I’ve talked about the different meaning of yellow and how this can tie into Jay slowly becoming disconnected from himself and who he once was, but what about the blue in his powers? What can that signify?
Blue is a color commonly associated with memory, as it is a color the brain most easily and frequently remembers, such as notes written in blue pen may be easier to remember than notes written in black. What else has blue been known to represent? Tranquility, stability, and loyalty. All attributes Jay has lost as his lightning slowly changes. Even as Agent Walker, with his lightning being mostly blue still we see him still have hints of himself in there. However during Inside the Maze, he’s a completely different person. Ras’s influence is a lot scarier than you’d think, and just by looking at Jay we can see, that this is no longer the Jay Walker everyone knows. He’s lost himself and who knows when we’ll get him back.
IN CONCLUSION-
I am mentally unwell, and probably had no reason to type out this entire analysis over the color of lighting that Jay has. But here I am and maybe you guys wanna read this for whatever reason idk. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk. I’m going to go pass out now.
#ninjago#lego ninjago#jay walker#ninjago dragons rising#ninjago jay#ninjago spoilers#agent walker#My hands hurt#I spent way too long on this over a goddamn color but fuck it we ball ig#if this sounds like a high school style written essay it’s because my literature teacher has me held hostage#I’m going to be shocked if anyone reads this whole thing

Infinity and Beyond - Looking Into The Sweet Signals from Space Update!
We’re finding the imposters among us with this one!
The aim of this concept is to have it be a multi-update deal akin to the Dragons storyline with how they say “like the dragon series, we’re diving into a story set in a rich, expansive universe”. This peaked my interest, I’d love to see what they have in store! I know there are some folks who like or don’t like the Dragons story, so I wonder what you all think of this!
Meet Astronaut Cookie! She’s cute, has an ice cream sandwich satellite for a pet, even has a cat cookie motif with her costume? What more could you want! Yeah, her skill might be a bit too reminiscent of Cyborg’s (who also got a skin after 84 years lol), but I’m willing to look past that.
Alright, I’m kind of vibing with the setting already, cookies are probably toothpaste, wonder if they clean your teeth when eaten. How does one “escape” or even fortify against a blackhole? The event itself sounds similar to the Sugar Maze event to me…in a way somehow. Wait, why is Stollen Cookie here? Also Planet H A M B O R G A R
I’m now getting Star Wars: Rogue One flashbacks. Just like Cyborg, it’s been 84 years since he got attention, so I’m happy to see he got a cool skin to deck himself out with!
The Surprise Bears. They can either go well or go very poorly, still means I don’t have to run over and over again for the god damn legendary ingredients. However, I do hope the challenges aren’t meant to be a cap in any way, since that already drags it down when you were able to AFK for hours beforehand, even if it sucked. Team Fight getting a gem boost might give me more incentive to play.
(Gmod flatline sound effect plays)
The Deal with Legendaries is canceled, y’all /j. I can’t keep up with their pace, bro. I’m over here trying to write it from time to time and they already have another one on the way, I’m dead. Xylitol Nova himself is getting flak for having a supposedly dull design unworthy of the rarity, I’m already seeing it in the QRTs on Twitter lol. For me, I’ll wait until I cast judgment, he has a pretty cool skin though…
———————————————————————
(Astronaut Cookie looked all around her new setting, seeing the city’s sleek, clean, futuristic design she hasn’t seen much of back on Earthbread. The cookies here didn’t look all that different too, save for their ingredients being possibly toothpaste in some capacity. She was caught staring at this one cookie in particular, she observed them inspecting the shield and instructing the robots to different spots close to the barrier, Xylitol Nova Cookie chuckled at her once he noticed.)
Xylitol Nova Cookie: Ah, I see you’ve taken an interest in one of my cookies. That would be Xylitol Y/N Cookie, they’re in charge of making sure the barrier is in peak performance, they’ve been hard at work ever since we’ve seen reports of the blackhole.
(Xylitol Nova walked over to them as Astronaut followed. Meanwhile, you were instructing both cookies and robots alike on the status of the barrier, making sure that no fault in any way was detected. Until the voice of someone very familiar to you called your name..)
Xylitol Nova Cookie: Hello, Xylitol Y/N Cookie. How are you doing?
(You greeted Xylitol Nova in return and proceeded to ramble on about the barrier. You did your best at trying to speak to him, but couldn’t ignore that cookie next to him staring at you. It also looked like Xylitol Nova wasn’t taking your analysis seriously with that smile of his, something that bothered you to no end!)
Xylitol Nova Cookie: How routine of you, Xylitol Y/N Cookie. Always thinking about the barrier when we haven’t had any issues in the past couple rotations. We have a guest here today and I’d like for you to meet her-
(You couldn’t, you had to inspect the rest of the barrier-when Xylitol Nova Cookie suddenly hugged you from behind with a strong grip, a scene that made Astronaut Cookie feel…envious. You complained and grumbled as you try fruitlessly to free yourself)
Xylitol Nova Cookie: Xylitol Y/N Cookie. You are taking a break from now until further notice, I’d hate to use my authority on you, but this is for your own good. Feel free to interact with your fellow cookies, come and see me in my residence, or even introduce yourself to our guest here~! (I’d prefer you pick the second option in my opinion)
(You continued to struggle until it felt tighter to move, you looked to your front to see Astronaut Cookie hugging you from the front, her head resting on your chest. You swear she’s…shaking a little bit?)
Xylitol Nova Cookie: What do you know? Even our visitor is agreeing with me, she appears to have taken a liking to you too.

Sometimes I feel the shows world is… empty but at the same time has too much
In season 2 they put sentient robots able to feel actual emotions like they are something common enough for a teenager go make them
In the specials they introduce other magic systems like the cousins of the kwamis and then introduce things like Batwoman and super/Wonder Woman
Then in season 3 they introduce FREAKING ALIENS!!! (Bunnix said they exist) I wouldn’t be mad if they elaborated in those subjects
But they don’t, we don’t have meta humans in the rest of the show but season 5 finale, we don’t have magicians and we haven’t seen a flesh and bones alien (I think since I don’t know what Majestia’s whole deal is)
The origins episode and the backstory of the guardians and miraculous imply the existence of other monsters
We see a kraken, a fusion of a Sphinx with Medusa fighting Heracles, a dragon fighting a ladybug holder on medieval glass stain similar to the ones in churches, and then we see some unknown hero fighting a Evangelion like monster on the sea with a Japanese style
But we only have Akumas, Akumas and Akumas, and in special occasions we have Akumas but BIGGER or Akumas but R E D ,Where are those monsters in modern age? Some of the crossovers they had planned with other ZAK shows implied the existence of witches, fairy’s, ghosts and a giant snake monster
The world introduces the supernatural and science fiction but instead of using it we are stuck with miraculous
Why is no character using magic? Why isn’t there sandman or rhino like villains rooming the streets? I Can see post season 4 Gabriel doing what tombstone did in spectacular Spider-Man and turning criminals into super villains to get the miraculous or at least to make negativity higher through all of Paris by introducing super villains who are willingly evil AND have permanent powers
Or why isn’t there a evil wizard searching for the miraculous for power or a ancient evil the kwamis sealed searching to take revenge on Plagg and Tikki? Or just Gabriel using evil magic to summon a hunting hound monster to track the miraculous and the heroes have to find a way to defeat a enemy they can’t defeat by their usual way (their usual way is breaking the evilified object so the enemy just disappears)
They keep introducing weird things and concepts and do nothing with them, is like they tried to be Spider-Man in the “exists on a larger world full with heroes” and then proceeds to ignore all other Spider-Man things like having a rogues gallery and constantly facing magic and sci-fi threats
Heck I might even say he only did this to ride the Shared universe train marvel started but just like DC and the Dark verse, they failed (except for the Monsterverse, the Monsterverse is ETERNAL)
That's the weird thing about this show. It wants to be a simple good vs evil story, but it also wants to flesh out the universe for future spin-offs.
This is why I just can't stand the Miraculous World specials, because they don't do anything with the concepts introduced. The Miraculous scattered across the world, other magical artifacts like the Miraculous, and the goddamn multiverse are only used for what is glorified filler. A lot of these ideas could easily be fleshed out for their own seasons, but the show only wants the conflict to revolve around the heroes and whoever gets the Butterfly Miraculous.
If you want to expand your universe, you need to think about how this development will affect your story as well as your world.

Chapter Summary:
Not even Moonrise Tower nor the Shadowcursed land had been this hectic. They dodged rains of incredible fire from dragons, psionic blast from nautiloids and falling debris from buildings crashing around them. Fighting their way through an army of cultists, mindflayers and intellectual devourers, her team felt as united as ever. Everyone felt the finality of it.
Notes: I wanted some whump, okay? I promise they will fuck eventually.
“Rolan? Really? I thought he hated your guts.”
“You haven’t seen him pining from afar?” Shadowheart asked dramatically.
“Honestly, Tav, he’s a decent bloke,” Wyll said. “A bit rough around the edges —“
“A bit?!” Karlach protested.
“Alright, quite rough around the edges,” Wyll amended.
“And pompous,” Shadowheart added.
“Completely up his own ass,” Karlach agreed.
“Alright!” Tav said, “I’ve told you all, nothing happened.”
Her and Rolan had been camp gossip from the moment they had walked into their suite; Tav had a hangover and a strong need for coffee, while Rolan was stiff with embarrassment at the questioning looks from her companions. He couldn’t stay long, but they had food and tea and coffee, which was the least she could offer him. She remembered most of the night: the crying, yelling and him having to arrange a makeshift bed for her. As it was embarrassing as it was, she felt a little better getting it all off of her chest. The details were fuzzy, but she knew she had come on to him. While nothing untoward had happened, the camp only saw their leader come through the doors looking bedraggled with an equally out of sorts tiefling wizard. Tongues had been sent wagging immediately.
“But you do fancy him, don’t you?” Karlach asked.
She took a deep breath. “Can we focus on the task at hand?”
“Only after you admit you want to shag the grumpy wizard,” Shadowheart teased.
“Fine, fine!” Tav felt like tearing out her hair. “Yes, yes I like him. Okay. Can we move on now?”
“Sheesh,” Karlach breathed. “Take him to bed, mate. You need it.”
She didn’t need Karlach to tell her that. She pushed on, ignoring them. Wyll, however, caught up quickly to her.
“I won’t lie to you, my friend, he hasn’t made the best impression,” he told her. “But he’s truly a good man.”
“I know that.”
“So, are you going to come clean about what happened on the roof then?” He was grinning, boyish and mischievous.
“Not you too, Wyll, please you were my last hope.”
Her only saving grace was that they found their way to an unusual engineer named Redhammer and his submersible, which happened to be the same culprit that had killed one the the priestesses of Umberlee. While she had half agreed to kill or hand him over if she found him, he offered an opportunity to find the hostage Gondians in the Iron Throne. Tav decided to take some inspiration from Astarion, using him to get down to the Iron Throne before she ultimately left his fate up to Umberlee's order. She thought she should have felt guilty, but he had been so casual about killing the priestess and transporting hostages she found herself lacking any real remorse. After the tadpole was out of her head, she thought she may have to reassess her moral compass.
After saving the Gondians, Duke Ravengaurd himself and their old friend Omeluum she was happy to be alive and not blown to bits at the bottom of the Chionthar. The priestesses of Umberlee had even rewarded them with a beautiful robe in exchange for finding Redhammer. Gale was the only other person it would have been suited for and he was too embarrassed to wear it despite the entire camp teasing him about it. It was a bit risqué, but when Tav slipped it on she felt it cling to her body and the strange fabric was so damn comfortable she felt as if it were a second skin. She quite liked it.
They made their way to Sorcerer’s Sundries, knowing the next day would be their chance to finish up the infiltration of the Steelwatch Foundry. Tav was sure Gortash would not bring the Steelwatch down on them right away. The last thing he needed was his army of metal titans tearing apart the city to find them, civilians would inevitably get hurt and then they would get angry. Gortash needed a city scared but ready to cling to a tyrant that could keep them safe, not ready to revolt for stepping on their children. They had to move, but she wanted to let him sweat and take time to get ready for their final push.
The foundry, the hammer, the last Netherstone. Then the brain. There was finally a light at the end of the tunnel.
Rolan was rarely in the shop these days. His mirror image had taken his position at the counter, helped along by the other specialists and Cal or Lia. Tav made her way upstairs; despite her pride she owed Rolan thanks for the night before and an apology for the teasing her friends had thrown his way in the wake of it. And she wondered if he’d like her new robes. It was silly, and pointless in the face of everything else that was going on but the desire was there, hiding behind her ‘noble’ reasons for disturbing him in the middle of the day. She made her way through the portal which led to the study Rolan was now using as his own office throughout the day. The blood, ash and bodies had all been cleared away — the decadent room was still in process of being redone to Rolan’s standards but it had come a long way since Lorroakan’s death.
“Rolan?” She called.
“A minute, please,” he replied from the balcony.
Tav rolled her eyes, muttering about wizards and their books. She strolled about the room. He seemed to be in the process of organizing tomes, one of the animated suits of armor was picking up a stack piled on the ground and taking it through another portal. She recalled him mentioning a library, and wanting to cultivate his own favorites for the study. It was his, now, after all.
“Please tell me you didn’t wear that into battle?”
When he had heard Tav’s voice carry through the study, he noted a lack of distinct irritation at being interrupted. Another sign that Tav was becoming worryingly exempt from his usual ‘prick-ish particularities’ as Cal had so kindly put it. He had just seen her that morning and as awkward as breakfast had been amongst her companions, he had to force himself to finish putting books on the shelf before heading down the stairs. He needed to retain some of his dignity, after all, despite his desire to eagerly stop everything he was doing at the sound of her voice. Tav waited for him below, and as usual, he took a mental note of any new injuries she may have acquired.
Robes with pieces of protective gear was what she normally wore. Soft leathers and sturdy cotton robes, with something to protect her vulnerable points. Even out of armor she usually only wore a simple tunic and cloth pants. His surprise to find her at the center of his study in an outfit that was all flesh and skin tight fabric made him stop in his tracks. The light blue ensemble clung to every curve, dipped low between her breasts (that damned pearl dangling at the center of her chest matched well with this new outfit, he noted), and was slit at the legs so all he saw was skin bared up to a concerning height on her thighs. Her worn leather boots stuck out, not quite fitting in with the sleek outfit, but that did nothing to preserve him from staring dumbly.
His momentary gawking was interrupted when he realized this scrap of fabric was meant to be armor. All the soft spots of her were exposed to cuts and bruises.
“Please tell me you didn’t wear that into battle?”
“You don’t like it?”
“That’s hardly the point I’m trying to make,” he said quickly.
“Then what is the point?”
“Don’t be stupid,” he said. “You can’t wear that in a fight. It’s…”
Ravishing. So easy to slide aside so I could have any part of you I wanted, he thought.
“Impractical.” He said aloud.
“And you decide what I wear now?”
“No,” he replied through grit teeth. “Of course not.”
“Well, I like it.” Tav shrugged him off, turning away and walking around to look at his progress in the study.
The dress was just as tight in the back, he noticed, his mind reeling and his pulse thrumming. “Where did you even get it?”
“It was a gift from the priestesses of Umberlee,” she said.
“And what, pray tell, did you do to earn it?”
“Freed some hostages in a prison at the bottom of the Chionthar and found the man who killed one of their order.” She listed casually. “Duke Ravenguard was down there, if you can believe it. And then Archduke Gortash, magnanimous man that he is, tried to blow us up,” her tone dripped with sarcasm, “it’s been quite a day.”
“Your usual heroics, then,” he grit out.
“Of course,” she grinned, and everything about the smile was a challenge, a tease, and he was certain he never wanted her so badly. “I know you love to hear about my gallantry. Not bad for a girl who started the day with a terrible hangover, I think.”
“Is there a point to your visit?” He asked tersely.
“Actually, yes,” she finally came up to him.
Close enough to touch. The fabric looked soft, and shimmery, probably pleasant enough to run his hands over but the exposed space between her breasts seemed particularly ripe for licking. His jaw clenched as he made the Herculean effort to look her in the eyes. The teasing look she had before was gone, something a little more bashful and sweet. It only made it harder to keep his hands to himself.
“I wanted to say thank you for last night.” She said, “I don’t remember all of it… but I know I was not at my best. Thanks for putting up with me, and sorry my friends are busybodies.”
Rolan didn’t know what to say. A whirlwind was inside him. Pure want and affection. Irritation at said want and affection. Irritation at himself for not being able to just say what he wanted to. This was all getting entirely out of hand.
“How is your arm?”
“My….arm?”
“You’re still scarred, from that ring you so foolishly put on when you had no idea what it did,” he snapped.
“Oh, that,” she deflated. “Fine. Just these marks,” she pushed back the sleeves of the robe to look at them. “Gale thinks it was some kind of connection to the elemental plane.” At his responding silence she shifted awkwardly. “Okay,” she drew out the word, “I’m going to go.”
“Goodbye.”
He stayed to watch her go, eyes glued to the way the robes clung to her bottom, the shift of the fabric and delicate metalwork over her exposed legs.
“You can’t wear that,” he blurted out. “Not in battle. You’ll be ripped to shreds.”
And so would the robe itself, which would be a terrible shame in and of itself, the more he thought about it.
“You said that already.”
“It bears repeating.”
She rolled her eyes. “Goodbye, Rolan.”
As she stepped through the portal and he was left alone he groaned, rubbing both hands over his face, as he muttered to himself, “you’re going to kill me you meddlesome, irritating, beautiful woman.”
While there had been little notice before the Netherbrain broke free and started unleashing terror on the city, Tav had at least warned her allies ahead of time that it could happen any day at any time. With Rolan’s permission, Counselor Florrick had spread the word that the tower was going to be one point of haven in the city. It had protections and wards, and plenty of space. When all hells broke loose, Cal and Lia were holding down the fort while he made his way to High Hall. Thankfully most of the fighting was happening in the upper city, but mind flayers were running rampant, the sky was red with fire, full of errant blasts from nautiloids and dragons.
He sent civilian healers as he found them to the tower, instructing them to take whoever they could with them. The high hall was crowded, Flaming Fists taking account of all the allies of Tav’s which had gathered. Many of them he recognized, some he had never seen before, but his heart swelled with pride at the gathering of people who were ready to support Tav and her friends.
When she came through the door with all her camp in tow, smattered in blood, as she always was, he thought she may cry at the showing. There wasn’t much time, but she took a moment to appraise them of her plan. Her entire party would take the main push to the brain, along with the illithid she had with her. There was no time to explain, she only assured them that this person — Orpheus, was on their side. She needed anyone she did not call to her side to focus on protecting the few points of refuge they had managed to secure in the city, and above all to keep as many civilians safe as possible. She was given means to summon her allies as needed.
As Tav made the quick effort to offer thanks to everyone individually, he felt the terror of it being the last time he saw her. This was not the Tav which he’d had drinks with at the Elfsong every night leading up to this battle, laughing with her friends, carefree for just a few hours. This was the woman who had lead four people to victory against a small army of Goblins, who stormed Moonrise towers and lifted the curse over Reithwin. Focused, determined and if she was scared it never once showed on her face. Only the storm dancing behind her eyes, calm before she exploded into action.
Rolan had to believe the next time he’d see her, she would be relaxed and teasing him about something over a glass of wine. As she approached him last, before heading out to save the city, he bolstered himself to be whatever she and the rest of the people of Baldur’s Gate needed.
“The tower is ready, you need only call.” He told her swiftly.
“Thank you.” She nodded. “Rolan, I — “ she bit her lip and clenched her eyes shut. “If I survive this —“
“You will,” he said certainly.
“If I do,” she repeated, eyes boring into his with earnesty he hardly knew how to deal with, “would you like to join me for a bottle of Arabellan Dry?”
“Are you asking me on a date? Right now?” As if to punctuate his point the ground shook, horrible screeching sounds and the roar of a dragon sounded out.
“Might be my last chance,” she breathed.
“It won’t be,” he insisted. If she was going to be bold enough to ask him out for a drink before running off to certain death — he had to rise to the challenge. He grabbed her hand, bringing it to his lips. “You’ll come back to me, gloriously and infuriatingly victorious.”
If he said it confidently enough it may just come true. It had worked for him before.
Tav nodded, squeezing his hand in hers. She hesitated, but there was little time for more to be said. She suddenly began to dig under the collar of her armored robes with her free hand. After fidgeting for a moment with something around her neck she held out the chain of the necklace which held her Pearl of Power.
“Can you hold onto it for me? I don’t want to lose it again.”
“You may need it,” he was unsure what else to say.
“Already used it today,” she said, “it’s just sentimental right now. And just — hold onto it. Please.”
Tav took his hand and placed the necklace into his palm, gently curling his fingers over it. It was such a small trinket, but the implications of her leaving it with him made it feel immeasurably valuable. He thought he would rather die than let it come to any harm. The dramatics of such a train of thought struck him so violently with the realization that he was undoubtedly in love. The terrible timing for such an epiphany was only emphasized by a loud boom on the roof and the shudder of dust and small bits of debris raining down on them.
Tav let go of his hand and with a determination in her eye he knew all too well, led her party out into the midst of terror with no other word.
There was no time to stop.
Not even Moonrise nor the Shadowcursed land had been this hectic. They dodged rains of incredible fire from dragons, psionic blast from nautiloids and falling debris from buildings crashing around them. Fighting their way through an army of cultists, mindflayers and intellectual devourers, her team felt as united as ever. Everyone felt the finality of it. She had seen Astarion and Gale share what they thought might possibly be their last kiss. Watching them felt like an intrusion, but the glance she had gotten of desperate softness in their eyes made her more determined than ever. Tav silently vowed that she would come out of this with everyone alive and ready to begin anew.
When they finally found the stalk of the Elderbrain it led higher and higher up over the city. She felt the adrenaline spurring her to start to climb, and she didn’t have to look behind her to know they followed. At the top it was an onslaught of psionic forces: the netherbrain, the illithids it commanded, and the tadpoles in their heads revolting at every move they made to fight against them. There were moments that blanked out, as she was stunned or her head hurt so badly she felt she couldn’t see. They were all moving on pure instinct to survive.
Karlach’s rage was an unstoppable force, Lae’zel cut down anyone in her path with brutal efficiency, and the only thing more intense than the amount of healing magic Shadowheart was expending was the force with which she brought down her mace. Jaheira and Halsin were in charge of summoning reinforcements as needed, controlling the battlefield with Druidic magic while Gale sent off spell after spell with devastating effect. Astarion and Wyll danced around the battlefield; Wyll’s combined magic and skill with the blade making him virtually untouchable while Astarion flitted in and out of visibility, daggers digging into flesh with deadly accuracy.
And she exploded with magic.
Her arm hurt, the flowing lines of whatever had touched her when she put on that ring in the tower glowed and raged as she gave everything she had. When she felt she had nothing left, it fed her new power, keeping a steady stream of lightning ready to strike. There was not a lot of time to think on this new development, only time to acknowledge that whatever it did to her, her magic was thriving on it. Her magic felt centered for the first time in her life. Controllable, not just something she was barely wrangling and flinging around blindly.
The last push to the crown was upon them. The way just needed to be cleared, she called to Halsin over the clamor of it all, tadpole transmitting to the others her plan. In truly rumbling cacophony explosions rained down, almost clearing their path. For a moment she took in the show of power from Ramazith’s Tower, but they had to bolt forward.
Lae’zel took the lead, attacking an illithid arcanist guarding the portal they needed to get into. Gale was quick behind her, magic missiles firing off in every direction and counterspell quickly cast afterwards. Karlach was keeping the way clear, as more illithid were summoned, hacking at tentacled heads until they rolled off. Tav took off for the portal, only to come face to face with her father.
No. It was her dream guardian. The Emperor’s trick.
When she had first seen the man in her dreams she had thought the same thing: he was just similar looking enough to her dear old dad to get her guard down but not so identical it would ring off alarm bells in her mind. Tav’s father was dead, after all, the Emperor had toed the line of familiarity on purpose. The single moment of hesitation was enough for the guardian to blast her with psionic energy, knocking her off of her feet. An intellect devourer took its chance and leapt onto her. Searing pain spread through her abdomen as claws dug in and tore. It was climbing up her body, ripping skin with every step. Her arm was pinned underneath one of its horrid legs, unable to cast, and she felt the thunderous pulse in her chest, the tingle of electricity in her veins — and then a dagger came down stopping the devourer in its tracks.
Astarion was above her, kicking the thing off of her. With a cry she felt the claws slip loose, blood pouring out of the wounds. The pain slipped away to the back of her mind as she flung forward, hands outstretched when a chain of lightning erupted at another dream guardian which tried to stop Gale. Astarion helped her to her feet, shoving a meager healing potion at her. It was not enough to close the wounds, but it gave her a rush of new vitality and they ran for the portal
This was it. This was the final task. All they had to do was survive long enough to take out the Netherbrain.
After setting off the blasts at Halsin’s command, Rolan had launched himself halfway down the stairs, nearly stumbling and stepping on his own tail. There were a handful of Flaming Fists, armed civilians, Cal, Lia and even Aradin guarding the perimeter of the tower; he had to go join them. The store was always chaotic with all the summons wandering around and magical effects but this was a different vein of mayhem. Anyone he could find with healing magic along the way was running around, people were screaming and crying on the floors and any clear surface available.
It sounded like Elturel.
Shaking his head of the thought, he pushed through the doors. People were still running, trying to get through the doors of the tower and whatever building still stood to get away from the carnage. The square was full of bodies and blood and rubble. He spotted Cal and Lia, both alive and fighting well. Cal’s swing was strong, Lia’s aim was impeccable — he was able to focus on casting. An illithid floated forward, chasing after a meal of one of the Flaming Fists' brains, Rolan quickly cast color spray, confusing the creature and shortly after one of Lia’s arrows sunk into its elongated head.
Cal got stunned, his head in his hands as he wobbled on his feet, two mindflayers floating towards him. Rolan nearly tripped over his robes to grab his brother by his shirt and pull him back, Cal fell and as soon as he was out of the line of attack Rolan felt the boom of thunder erupt from his hand. The illithids were sent backwards, landing on their back, prone.
“Cal,” he turned to offer a hand to his brother, “stay steady.”
“Yeah,” Cal grunted, shaking his head free of the psionic force which had stunned him. “I’m good, I’m alright.”
“Rolan! Incoming!”
Lia’s voice called out before she let an arrow loose. His eyes flicked to the sky, a nautiloid was overhead, a beam of some sort beginning to glow with energy.
“To me! Now!”
Aradin and anyone nearby enough to hear him huddled close, Rolan swiftly casting an orb of invulnerability. He had never cast it before, not successfully, but it was all he could think of to try. A slight red shimmer created a bubble around them, the nautiloid made its attack. A few people were decimated by the blow immediately outside of the orb, even a ravenous illithid in the middle of extracting a brain from a skull had not made it out of the way in time. The spell worked. Rubble flew into the air with the blast, and stopped bluntly at the barrier.
Thank the Gods. Rolan thought to himself, sweat beading down his temple.
Lia ducked in and out of the orb to shoot off arrows, clearing the path for some to make their way to the tower or within the confines of Rolan’s temporary protection. He managed to keep the orb up long enough for the blasts to cede after the nautiloid was distracted from attacking the ground by a Githyanki force of dragon riders.
“There’s more coming!” Aradin yelled. “We should fall back into the tower.”
“The wards can only take so much,” Rolan snapped back. “Get out there and kill something or get out of the way!”
He never understood Zevlor’s well-known ire for the mercenary more as he fled inside. As he had said, more illithids came out of the woodwork. The alien army had not found it necessary to send any armored mind flayers — relying on the freshly transformed tadpoled masses which had been lurking in the city. They had numbers, but most of them were stark naked, and sloppy in the unusual new bodies. Many of them fell quickly, which was his only comfort against the slowly dwindling numbers of his own allies. If they just kept it up, they could maintain the line of defense around the tower.
“Come on, Tav,” he heard Lia scream as another Flaming Fist fell to an illithid. “Just kill it already!”
There was no way for Tav to hear them, but he understood the panic. He felt each second that passed since he set off the blasts from the tower as if it were an hour. They could not keep this up forever, and part of him knew that as intense as it was on the ground, up there where the brain hovered in the air it was ten times worse.
“Tav needs us to hold strong,” he called to his sister. “We owe her that, at least.”
Lia was too far away for him to be sure but thought he saw her jaw set in the same way Cal’s did when he was concentrating. His brother felled an illithid in one blow, clean and easy at the neck.
“Can’t believe I’m saying this,” Cal said, “but Rolan is right!”
It truly was the end of the world.
When Tav hit the water, she blacked out for a moment. Her eyes opened and the gasp that wracked her body filled her mouth and lungs with water as she realized too late in her waking that she was in the Chionthar. She floundered to the surface, hacking and coughing. Once she had her breath, she started screaming for her companions.
“Here!” Gale yelled.
He was not too far off from her, hanging onto some floating debris, with an unmoving lump with white hair. She swam over, grabbing onto the debris.
“Is he alive?” She panicked.
“Breathing,” Astarion’s voice was weak, “stop screaming.”
“Where’s everyone else?” Tav felt herself succumbing to the confusion. “Karlach! Have you seen anyone? Wyll!”
“I’ve got Shadowheart and Wyll!” She heard Karlach call, a red spot in the distance, tethering two limp bodies as she kept them on their backs.
Lae’zel, Halsin, Minsc and Jaheira were still unaccounted for. Tav’s eyes scanned the water, dawn hadn’t broken yet, it was still dark and the depths below were impossible to see into. The only real light was provided by the city which was still very much on fire. Just as Tav was about to give into despair, a giant tentacle broke the water, then another, in its grips was an unconscious Lae’zel, and Minsc who was sputtering and cackling like a madman. Finally a third, and Halsin broke the surface.
“Minsc! Where’s Jaheira?”
“You look upon her!” He called back.
Wild shape was one hell of a thing. Tav called to the giant octopus whose eye peered into hers as it breached the surface, telling Jaheira to grab Karlach first as she was treading water and trying to keep two people afloat at the same time. Tav watched, only vaguely hearing Astarion and Gale speaking next to her. She needed to see them all safely put upon the dock, she needed to know she had done it. She hadn’t lost anyone.
“Stop trying to talk to me,” Astarion muttered. “I’m furious with you.”
“My love, I would have made sure you were transported out of harm's way,” Gale attempted to sooth him.
“And what about you?” Astarion snapped. “What was I supposed to do without you?”
She was not quite sure what they were talking about.
“We were losing, Astarion,” Gale pleaded. “The orb may have been—“
“The orb?” Tav heard her neck crack as she swung her head so fast to look at him. She felt dizzy.
“He very nearly blew himself up, again,” Astarion seethed. “I saw him reach for the dagger.”
“Gale!” Tav scolded. “I told you — not an option!”
“Tav, please, if all else failed —“
“But it didn’t!” She yelled.
“No,” he sighed. “No, it did not. So please, can we make it to land and put this to rest.”
Just as Tav was about to argue with him, she felt a tug at her midsection, and uncomfortable stinging of pain accompanying the grasp. Astarion and Gale were lifted out of the water by tentacles at the same time she was and they were being slowly carried to the dock. It was supposed to be over once they all made it on dry land. She had given in to the hope that she had finally led her party to their final battle without losing a single member. The victory was supposed to be sweet, and cathartic.
The moment they caught their breath on the dock, Karlach’s engine started to fail.
The main floor of the store was cleared of most furniture to make room for cots full of injured people. Amateur and professional healers alike were running around madly, calling for aid from whoever was still standing. To his credit, he had begun to organize as best he could. It was still chaos, but he was managing to take requests, send off whatever volunteer was nearest to assist, and have Cal take on grabbing potions and herbs from the stores as needed. Rolan was no healer, but he could wrap a wound before too much blood was lost as some poor soul waited for someone to be available. He could also bark orders, arrange for Fists to section off high risk patients from those who could survive without immediate attention.
There were two surgeons he had managed to recruit. Their space was at the very back near the necromancy supplies were, with a temporary shielding wall of stone. It didn’t drown the screams of agony as they operated but it prevented anyone from witnessing an amputation.
When the heroes of the hour burst through the door of the tower, even amongst the chaos, Rolan knew something was wrong. They looked like hell. Jaheira was bleeding from a deep wound on her head, Shadowheart was limping, and even Minsc who was always quick to get back on his feet looked like he had been thrown from a twenty story building and felt it. A good chunk of the party was missing. Wyll and Karlach were nowhere to be seen. In fact way too many of them were just gone. Astarion, Gale and Lae’zel didn’t follow, and neither did Tav. Halsin was the very last of them in, carrying someone.
“A bed! Now!” The Archdruid’s voice boomed over the chaos
A humming sound rang in his ears, the entire world pinpointed to the form of the woman in Halsin’s arms as he was directed to place her on a free bed by a Fist.
Rolan let his feet guide him to her side, a numb feeling keeping panic at bay. On the bed was a bloody mess of a woman, who in all appearances looked like Tav but… That surely wasn’t his Tav. That was an empty shell; the skin had no vibrancy, the only truly bright color was the blood leaking out of the deep wound in her stomach. Her eyes, open staring up at the ceiling, were empty.
Shadowheart placed her hands over Tav and the glow of her healing magic flashed and ebbed away. She tried again, but the magic stuttered out. Shadowheart let out a strangled scream in frustration, pounding glowing hands into Tav's chest and each rush of power was weaker and weaker.
“What are you doing? Heal her,” Rolan demanded. “Fix her!”
“I can’t —“ Shadowheart’s voice cracked.
“Shadowheart’s magic is spent,” Jaheira’s tone was sharp but even, the voice of a General. “And healing magic won’t work on her now. This is a magic shop — find a resurrection scroll.”
Resurrection implied she was dead. Logically, yes, he could see that. Tav was dead, nothing more than spent flesh and blood. But this was not supposed to happen, this was beyond everything he knew of her.
She always survives. She always does the impossible. She can't be dead.
“How did this happen?”
“Rolan,” Shadowheart pleaded his name, disregarding the question, “do you have a resurrection scroll?”
The buzzing in his ears stopped, the cacophony of the tower coming back to him. A solution that he could focus on. He took off in a sprint, jumping over the counter. His hands shook as he opened the safe where they kept the high value scrolls.
“Rolan, that Florrick lady is here, she brought some — what’s wrong?”
He didn’t hear Lia come up, and didn’t take the time to acknowledge her as he started reading through the stock. “We must have one.”
“Talk to me,” Lia said again getting his attention, “what’s happened?”
An idea jolted him, there were stores and stores of supplies in the study. “Upstairs, in the study, the scroll collection —“ he quickly said, “we need a resurrection scroll.”
“But —“
“Check the vaults, check the study — find me a resurrection scroll!”
Taking in his frantic tone, Lia ran off without further question. There was no possible way this was how Tav’s story ended. In a numb haze he remembered what little he knew about healing and divine magic; there was a time limit on a basic resurrection spell. At some point a soul was too far gone and True Resurrection would be the only other option. Plain resurrection scrolls were rare enough as it was, but a True Resurrection scroll was near impossible for most people to get ahold of.
Chain of lightning, hold person, cloud kill — his hands fumbled to work as fast as he read the scrolls. He had no real idea how much time was passing, but each second was too long. There were dozens of scrolls, and he looked at each one. Finding nothing of use he ran around the counter to start up the stairs.
He should have told her at High Hall. He should have just said it. He should have thought to find a scroll ahead of time for this very purpose. What a cosmic joke, for her to have made it this far, only to die at the finish line. She deserved better. He would make sure she got a better ending than this. He nearly ran into Lia jumping the last few steps of the staircase.
“I found one!”
She held up the scroll and he snatched it out of her hand, narrowly dodging a healer as he ran to the bed where Shadowheart was praying desperately.
“Found — the scroll —“ he stammered out, short of breath.
“Use it, quickly,” Jaheira said.
His fingers fumbled with the clasp that held it shut, as it unfurled he knew he needed to breathe through the panic in his chest. He could do an incantation, he could read the words off of a scroll as he had a hundred times before. There was not a God he prayed to usually, not one he thought to plead with specifically. Mystra, maybe. But given what he knew of her and her friends, Mystra might not be so inclined to help Tav.
His willpower would have to be enough; this was not how her story ended, he repeated to himself. She was too good, too resilient, too kind, too forgiving, too infuriatingly wonderful — too loved. Rolan was not going to let her disappear that easily, he vowed as he spoke the incantation.
The spell took hold, golden light shuddering Tav’s body, and then disappearing. For a terrifyingly long moment, he was unsure if it worked. But her eyes blinked, at first it looked like a twitch, but then they fluttered a few times and the light was back in them. Her limbs jolted like she had been electrocuted and then a truly shocking deep gasp for air had her sitting up on the cot.
“There you are, Cub,” Jaheira said, a steady hand on her shoulder which emitted the familiar green light of her Druidic magic. “Didn’t think we’d let you get out of cleaning up, did you?”
“Hurts,” she sucked breaths in desperately.
“Lay down,” Shadowheart said. “We’ll find a healer.”
“Where —?”
Rolan was frozen to the spot. She still looked so close to death. Her head swiveled over to him, eyes confusedly still searching for some sense of what was going on.
“You.” Was all she said.
“Yeah, me,” he breathed. “Lay down. You look awful.”
“Rude,” she wheezed but let herself ease onto her back. “I think you look… good…” exhaustion, pain or any combination of whatever her body was going through had her slipping out of consciousness.
“Tav,” Rolan panicked, kneeling next to her. “Damn you, stay awake,” he grabbed her face in his hands and she gave him a heavy lidded stare.
“Trying,” she said.
She was still in rough shape. Halsin and Jahiera dumped the last dregs of their limited healing magic into her, doing just enough to keep her from bleeding out on the bed once more. Shadowheart tipped her head back for a basic healing potion, and it dribbled down the side of her face but it brought some of the vibrancy of her skin.
“She won’t succumb to the wounds, but she needs healing quickly,” Halsin seemed to be talking to himself more than them, as he took off to find someone to help.
“You can rest now,” Shadowheart assured her softly. “Right, Rolan?”
He wasn’t so sure. But Shadowheart was a healer, she knew better than him. He swallowed hard, and nodded. “That’s right.”
“Good,” Tav mumbled, “tired.”
Shadowheart and Rolan watched as she slipped into unconsciousness. Her chest rose and fell, although shallowly. Shadowheart heaved a big breath, recomposing herself. She looked around the room, and then to Rolan.
“I need to rest, then I’ll be able to help,” she seemed to be telling herself rather than him. “I’ll stay here,” she said, “I’ll stay with her and rest.”
“What can I do?” Rolan asked desperately.
“You are the Master of Ramazith’s tower,” Jahiera cut in. “This is your city, you have a duty to its people now — unless you wish to follow Lorroakan’s example, get to work.” Jaheira looked down at Tav, “we will look after her, as she has looked after us.”
Rolan never felt more like an outsider, and he felt he should watch whatever healer Halsin found. If only to see for himself that she was truly going to be alright. Shadowheart was watching the rise and fall of her chest with intense focus, and it felt wrong that she was the only one of their original group by her side.
“Rolan, there’s a fire that they can’t put out over in Heapside,” Cal was there, Rolan hadn’t even heard him approach.
“There’s summoning scrolls, water elementals,” he said distractedly.
“Go,” Shadowheart looked at him. “We’ve got her.”
“And that is supposed to be a comfort?” He snapped. “She was dead just moments ago under your watch!”
“She didn’t tell us,” Shadowheart said back, a tone of shame in her raised voice. “Everything was happening so fast — she didn’t tell us she was hurt!”
“No one here is to blame,” Jaheira was annoyed, he could tell by the arch of her brow. “She would tell you the same.”
He felt another comment on the tip of his tongue, ready to rage and yell to do something with the gods awful feeling in his chest. He nearly lost her.
“Rolan,” Cal said, “we have to —“
“Fine! Fine.”
The city still needed saving, despite the threat being gone. Who knew how much help was needed across the city. Running to everyone's rescue was what she would tell him to do, but still he was afraid to leave her side. He touched her cheek: warm, alive, despite looking worse than she ever had after a fight.
“She’ll be alright?” He asked, wincing slightly at the desperate crack in his voice.
Shadowheart nodded, her hand coming to squeeze his, “I promise, I won’t let her slip away again.”
Rolan had no other choice but to trust her.
Thank you for reading!

do you happen to have any other bls with toxic kings up your sleeve? i’m as giddy as you when it comes to ming! i’m newer to bls, so there’s a good chance i haven’t seen whatever you suggest.
Anon, I have an entire roster of toxic characters because
I LOVE TOXIC BITCHES!
Like 2 Chainz rapped on one of my favorite songs, "I love bad bitches, that's my fuckin' problem" which is why I HATE when a story won't allow characters to be toxic. Like we all know the character IS toxic, but the story keeps telling us he isn't that bad or he is only that bad because reasons. Regardless of the reasons, the character is a bad bitch so why not just let him fucking own it, which is truly the reason Only Friends pissed me off so much.
Case and point, my favorite characters were Ray and Nick. Ray was calling Sand a whore every two seconds and throwing money at him, while Nick was recording non-consexual sex tapes, yet the narrative wanted me to think they were just sad dudes who were slightly problematic.
NAH! Nick straight up said he was trash! THEY WERE TOXIC just like everyone else in that damn show!
Which is why I liked Kang in Dangerous Romance because I don't feel like the narrative eased up on his toxicity. In fact, I feel like the story said Sailom was into it with that master/servant scene at the very end.
So in order for me to love a toxic character, they must 1) be considered toxic by the story, and 2) stay toxic, so I'm going to give you a list of ten of my favorites, but know that spoilers are coming your way too. Also know that I do not recommend anything, ever, so these are not recommendations. These are merely my favorite toxicitos.
Mis tóxicos favoritos
presented in no particular order
Todd - Not Me
This man had his lover (it's canon to me) beat into a coma. Then, he went and grabbed that man's twin brother and made him take on his lover's persona all so he could overthrow his competition and be the number one evil capitalist. And then, AND THEN, he was excited to see his lover, Black, return even though he knew that meant he was probably going to die. Honestly, his entire relationship with Black was toxic, and I desperately need more of it. Not Me 2: Blackout when? WHEN, GMMTV?!
Rio & Kido - The Novelist Series
Rio blew Kido in front of an old man in broad daylight, so they could get a book deal. That's just one of the many fucked up things these two did together, but they were even worse apart. Rio lied to a college student for months about his arm being injured and writing pornographic novels just to turn on the college student and fuck him because . . . he was bored? It's deeper than that, but it kinda ain't. Rio and Kido did toxic shit to feel alive and that's my special brand of toxic. I will never make excuses for them. I like them this way.
Yai - Big Dragon
The very beginning of this show, as in the very first scene, is Yai and Mangkorn having sex AFTER Yai drugged Mangkorn in hopes of sexually assaulting him and recording it. AND MANGKORN IS INTO IT! Yai tries to steal Mangkorn's phone and ruin his life too, but Mangkorn is so in love with Yai, that he is willing to play along with whatever Yai does including fighting Yai. This is one of my favorite BLs for a multitude of reasons, but the biggest is because instead of trying to tame Yai, Mangkorn just decided to match his toxic energy! I love that for them.
Songpol - Club Friday
Bank plays toxic very well, which is why he has two characters on this list, even though this show isn't technically a BL. Club Friday is already a hot mess express, so to be the most toxic character in a show filled with toxic characters means that Songpol was TOK-SICK! He cheated on his boyfriend with multiple men. When his boyfriend left him for a woman, he showed up outside of that woman's house calling her a whore. He then went to their wedding just so he could fuck his ex in a bathroom (on his wedding day). He continued to hook up with his ex, and sent a video to his ex's wife of them having sex, only for her to tell him to move into the house and continue having sex with her husband! AND THAT'S ONLY THE SECOND EPISODE! He was serving telenovela villain, and I want him back.
Vegas - KinnPorsche
The scene: Vegas' beloved hedgehog has just died and he has carried out a tiny funeral for him while the bodyguard he has been holding hostage AND TORTURING comforts him, but instead of sitting in that grief, Vegas tells the bodyguard that the bodyguard is probably turned on by seeing Vegas weak, then proceeds to fuck him. Skipping over the fact that Vegas drugged Porsche, killed Tawan, got Big and Ken murdered by extension, and a plethora of other horrible shit, Vegas was a HUGE red flag from the very beginning, and I wanted him to choke me so badly. *bites knuckles*
Charn - Laws of Attraction
He had his reasons, but the story and his husband didn't let that be an excuse for his toxic behavior. He tried burning down Tinn's house, with Tinn and his grandmother in it, and Tinn was very upset about it. Not enough to not sleep with Charn, but enough to get his point across that if Charn wanted to burn something down, he needed to focus on burning down the oppressive heteronormative government, so we could all have basic human rights. Toxic, but for the cause.
Chalothon - The Sign
I knew he was a problem because the way he handled his patients, but he truly proved how toxic he was when he told Phaya he would kill Tharn before letting Phaya have him. I'm mad that the show made him good in the last episode, with most of if being off-screen, but I'll always remember how he committed psychological warfare on Phaya for eleven episodes in hopes of making Phaya seem crazy, and actually made Tharn, Phaya's soulmate, question Phaya's sanity.
Mol - 180 Degree Longitude Passes Through Us
The only woman on this list and she isn't even queer. That's how toxic this chick was that she made it on a this list being a heterosexual, which was a major part of her toxicity. She is a top-tier gaslighter to her son. She doesn't actually consider Inn her friend. She uses feminist rhetoric to be homophobic. She manipulates every situation in her favor by using tears. I could write a list just about her being lead paint toxic, but the most fucked up part is that she got to ride off into the sunset with her son in the passenger seat being miserable, which is what she wanted. No other BL parent could reach her level. Korn and Gun from KinnPorsche exist, yet this woman would eat them alive without hesitation, then go throw a party for herself. She really is that bitch.
Yong Jie - HIStory 4: Close to You
I'm not going to bullshit around him being a whole ass problem. This motherfucker is the most controversial pick on this list, and I am well aware of why he is hated by the people, but the story told us he was the devil. The show treated everything he did like stalking, physical assault, and sexual assault as horrible, and he got knocked out for it. HIStory 4 is my favorite BL, ever, and part of it is because the story let this toxic motherfucker BE toxic. I love how much I hate him, and I love how much the story allows me to hate him.
So - House of Stars
This show was a mess, so I was not expecting this man to come out as THE toxic king to rule over every other toxic character. What made him so toxic is that I had no idea just how toxic he was until the exact moment I realized it, and that's why he is one of my favorites. He was sneaky. He was playing everyone against each other. He was letting the bodies stack up. He was Tan from Dead Friend Forever without anyone figuring out he was Tan. One person realized part of his plan, but even then, that person was not aware of how committed to the bit So was. This smile was the very last scene of the show, and it really proved that this boy ruined everyone's lives only to walk out of it completely unbothered. You know, king shit.
#toxic kings#I love toxic bitches#it's the unhinged behavior and mind games that always gets me#house of stars#history 4: close to you#180 degree longitude passes through us#club friday#kinnporsche#big dragon#laws of attraction#the sign#not me#the novelist

“How is he?” you asked hesitantly during your weekly lunch with Helaena.
It was a few days after Sihtric had been in your apartment and you’d both said your goodbyes, for good this time. Since then your mind had only been occupied by one man and it wasn’t Sihtric.
You had been on the verge of feeling better, not thinking of Aegon constantly anymore, but then being with Sihtric had felt like a wake up call, reminding you of what you had been missing and now it hurt all over again, even worse than before.
“He’s as miserable as you are,” Helaena informed you,”He doesn’t even go out anymore, I haven’t seen him this sad in a really long time.”
Her words hurt your heart and you quietly sipped from your coffee, looking out over the river.
“Does that…make it easier on you?" Helaena asked as she played with the last piece of her pizza crust,"Knowing that he's suffering as well?"
“No. Actually…it only makes things worse. I don’t want him to feel miserable or sad," you confessed with a sigh,"It hurts me to think of him like that. I just…want him to be happy, if it’s not with me then...that's fine but...I just need him to be good. Can you please look out for him, Hel? I know you're not best friends but I need...I need him to be okay.”
Helaena stared at you for a moment and then her eyes widened with realization,”Holy shit, you fucking love him!”
You shook your head with a sad smile,”I thought we’d established that already.”
“No, I knew you were in love with him, I didn’t know…you loved him. Oh my god, babe.”
You nodded your head, trying to hold back your tears,”It doesn’t matter, Hel. He doesn’t love me back that way.”
“You know that’s not true.”
“Then why am I alone?” you shook your head and pushed back your tears, not wanting to give into them, not again, not after all this time fighting to get over him.
Helaena sighed,”Because he is an idiot.”
“Yeah, and you warned me about that. Fuck, he even warned me about it and I was still too stubborn to listen.”
“The heart wants what the heart wants.”
You nodded softly,“My heart was a fool, Hel.”
Helaena’s eyes met yours.“But he loves you too,” she insisted,”I fucking know he does, he’s just…being Aegon.”
“Yeah,” you sighed, feeling tears well up in your eyes. You knew you were going to break down if she even so much as mentioned his name again.
”Can we please talk about something else now?” you pleaded.
“I’m sorry,” Helaena shook her head,”Hey, wanna go out on Friday? Get really drunk and just dance the night away. No guys.”
You smiled and nodded your head,”That sounds nice actually. Especially that last part.”
“Good! It’s a date! With me, no guys!”
You laughed at her enthusiasm and squeezed her hand with a grateful smile. You would get through this, just as you had before, with Helaena’s help and a lot of patience.
All the love Aegon may or may not have for you didn’t change the outcome. He had made his choice, and it didn’t involve you.
So he no longer deserved your tears, it was time to focus on yourself this time.
***
Winchester was a small city, you always knew it was bound to happen at some point, yet you were still totally unprepared for it when it eventually did.
You were on your way to grab a quick bite to eat before meeting up with Helaena for your girl’s night that Friday when you ran into him.
He was just stepping out of the sushi shop the moment you wanted to walk in.
Both of you were instantly stopped in your tracks.
It was as if the world momentarily stopped spinning.
But it was only you and him who stood frozen in time.
“Aegon.” His name was but a whisper from your lips and at first he didn’t respond. All he did was stare at you, hands clasping the paper bag in his hands.
“Hey,” he finally managed, his voice soft and deep and so soothingly familiar. He still wasn’t able to tear his eyes away from you.
You were dressed to go out, wearing high heels, a long classy coat and your favorite black dress, the one you wore that night in the club, where Aegon touched you for the first time. He was clearly dressed to stay in, wearing a comfortable, cozy hoody and baggy pants.
The both of you couldn’t have looked any more different, like you didn’t belong together. The irony wasn’t lost on you.
Aegon’s long hair was gone, he was sporting a buzz cut now.
He looked so different, and yet very much the same. Your heart bled with the love you still felt for him, the love you’d been fighting so hard not to feel.
“You look beautiful,” Aegon spoke softly after a while, pulling you from your thoughts and giving you a hesitant smile.
“You cut your hair,” you remarked softly in return, making him smile brighter.
“Yeah, I thought it was time for a dramatic statement, post breakup. Something about a fresh start and all that shit.”
You couldn’t help but smile at his explanation and you realized how much you’d missed this, just talking to him and hearing his voice.
“It looks good on you,” you complimented him.
“Thanks,” he smiled, blushing and finally managing to break eye contact,”I should probably…leave you to your night then. You look like you have plans, so…”
Disappointment flooded your veins.
You‘d give anything for him not to go yet, but you didn’t have the words to make him stay. So you just nodded.
“Take care, Aegon, it was good to see you,” you gave him one last smile before turning your back to him, doing your utter best not to break down in tears right there.
You stepped inside the shop and ordered your food, trying to think of Helaena and the fun night you two had planned. You couldn’t let this unexpected encounter upset you and ruin your girls night, you needed this now more than ever.
You paid for your order and grabbed your bag before heading out. As you were searching for your phone to text Helaena you suddenly froze again.
Aegon was standing right where you left him, looking at you with a sheepish, nervous smile on his face before he spoke,“I thought…since you ordered sushi, and I ordered sushi, maybe we could…find a spot by the water and eat it together, catch up? I mean if…you don’t have anywhere else to be right now…it’s fine if you…Fuck, I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have asked that. You clearly have plans and you’ve moved on..I didn’t mean to…”
“I have some time,” you took a step closer to him, letting your eyes meet and he instantly stopped rambling when he noticed your smile.
“Yeah?” he asked hesitantly.
You nodded,”Yeah.”
He smiled relieved and you followed him to find a bench with a table near the river. Aegon opted to sit next to you instead of on the opposite side of the table. You knew it meant nothing but you couldn’t help but feel your heart make a little jump at his decision to sit closer to you.
You both opened your bags to take out the food and drinks and then started eating in silence. It felt surreal to just sit with him like this, as if these past months had never happened.
Aegon was the first to speak after a while,”You look really good. I know I already said that but…it’s good…I’m glad to see you’ve moved on.”
You turned to look at him in confusion,”Why do you keep saying that?”
“What do you mean?”
“That I’ve moved on, you've said it twice now and I don’t…I don’t know why you would say that.”
Because it was the furthest thing from the truth. If you looked good tonight it was just the dress and the make up, it was all superficial, and so fake. You hadn’t felt good in months and seeing Aegon tonight only confirmed that. You hadn’t moved on from him at all, all that time apart meant nothing, it hadn’t changed a damn thing, you still wanted him.
You would always want him.
You looked away from him and took another bite from your sushi, trying to keep it together.
This time Aegon was the one who was confused,“But I thought you and Sihtric…”
“Me and Sihtric?” you asked surprised,”There is no me and Sihtric, Aegon.”
“Oh,” he froze for a moment, staring at his drink,”I thought…I thought you two were together.”
“Why would you think that?”
“Because…I watched him leave your apartment one night.”
You stopped eating to look at him,”What were you doing there? Were you stalking me? You just happened to walk by the one time Sihtric was in my apartment?”
“One time?” he asked, clearly pleasantly surprised by that reveal.
You sighed,“Not the point, Aegs.”
“I’m sorry,” he avoided your eyes, guilt written all over his face,”I know I shouldn’t have done that. I just…I’ve wanted to come talk to you so many times, I just…always chickened out. And then I thought there was no point because…you were with him.”
He looked sad again and how on earth were you supposed to stay mad at him when he looked at you with those big, wet puppy eyes?
”Me and Sihtric tried but it didn’t work out," you explained.
Aegon opened his mouth to speak but nothing was coming out.
”I guess sometimes the thing you always thought you wanted…isn’t what you truly wanted after all,” you explained.
“Yeah,” he nodded quietly.
“What about Skade?” you asked.
”I never saw her again after that festival thing and…it’s like you said. She was never what I wanted.”
Aegon sighed and bit his lip, struggling with his next words.
How could he tell you he’d stopped caring about Skade the moment he kissed you? Or how badly he’d missed you every single day since you'd been apart? How could he tell you all he’d ever truly wanted was you? How could he say any of those things when he was the one who sent you away?
You both continued eating in silence.
“I want to apologize to you,” he said after a while.
“There’s no need, Aegs,” you shook your head.
“Yes, there is,” he insisted,”I was a real jerk and you had done nothing to deserve any of that. I’m sorry, for everything, I…it was never you, I need you to know that.”
He pulled his leg up on the bench so he could face you, the look in his eyes suddenly so soft you couldn’t look at anything else.
“I know,” you nodded.
“Good,” he breathed,”because…hurting you was the absolute last thing I wanted.”
“I know,” you whispered but your voice was shaking. Aegon’s hand moved to touch your arm but he pulled back at the last moment, making you crave his touch even more.
He was quiet again after that and you both finished the last of your sushi.
“So…how have you been?” you asked carefully after a while.
“I’m…okay,” he answered but then that sad smile appeared on his face again and he started shaking his head,”Actually…that’s a lie, It’s been…it’s been pretty shitty since you left, to be honest.”
“Since you told me to leave,” you corrected him.
“Yeah, I’m…I’m so sorry about that.”
“Are you?”
You both looked at each other, your gaze harder than you intended, preparing yourself for another disappointment and for him to shut down again as he always had before.
But then Aegon surprised you.
His voice was shaking when he answered your question,”I was so fucking happy when I was with you but…so fucking scared as well. That it was all going to go up in flames again and I would lose you because that’s what always happens. I always screw things up, I just can’t help it. I’m the one who lights the fire and then I cry when it burns.”
You kept your eyes on him but didn’t say a word, not wanting to interrupt him now that he was finally opening up to you.
“I’m messed up, Y/N,” he continued,”I’m so messed up and I’m never going to be normal. I just…didn’t want you to have to deal with any of that.”
“Deal with what exactly, Aegs?” you asked carefully.
He sighed deeply while softly nodding his head. You had never seen him this nervous before and it made your heart ache for him. You carefully reached out and placed your hand on his knee. Aegon's breath hitched at your touch.
“It’s okay,” you spoke softly, encouraging him,”You can tell me anything.”
You were about to take your hand back when Aegon covered it with his, keeping yours in place, his thumb anxiously tracing lines over your skin. His touch made your heart race.
“It’s just…a lot,” he spoke softly, avoiding your eyes and nervously biting on his lip.
“That’s okay, I can handle a lot,” you whispered and he let out a deep breath, trying to keep his calm before he started talking again.
“I’ve been depressed pretty much my whole life, even as kid I always felt…out of place, not good enough. When our parents divorced things only got worse. Aemond had always been so smart and determined and all that stuff just seemed to motivate him even more, it strengthened him. And Hel…well, she just lives in her own little bubble where everything is always fine, sometimes I think her imagination makes her stronger than all of us.”
You couldn’t help but smile at that.
“But for me,” he continued,”I couldn’t deal with it and…it made me hate the world even more. Hate myself even more.”
His hand was still holding yours and squeezing a little harder now.
“By the time I was 14 I was depressed all the time. When I turned sixteen I started drinking, learned that alcohol was a really good way to shut off your brain, I got addicted real quick. Quit school and got into some trouble, some of it illegal but…when your parents own the city things like that disappear in a heartbeat, I could pretty much do whatever I wanted without any consequences, no one gave a shit. When I was seventeen I drank so much I ended up in a coma. I woke up after two days. Doctors said I was lucky to have gotten out of that alive but…I didn’t feel lucky, I wished they would have just let me die, I was so angry that they didn’t.”
Your heart was breaking but you didn’t dare speak now that he was pouring his heart out to you.
Aegon continued,“I moved out to live on my own shortly after that which…only made things worse because now there was no one to keep me in check. Helaena found me on the sidewalk of my apartment one night, totally out of it, she was scared shitless, she thought I was dead. After that mum put me up in the penthouse where I am now, gave me my own driver and housekeeper, just as a way to keep some control. And keep me alive, I guess. And things were okay for a while, Hel sort of adopted me into her friends group and took me out with her, thinking they might have a good influence on me and keep me on the right track but…I corrupted every single one of her girl friends.”
He gave a weak smile at those words and let his eyes meet yours,”That’s why she didn’t want me near you. Anyway, for me that was the start of a whole new social life. The parties were fun, the girls…let’s just say sex was an even better distraction than alcohol and when you combined the two…I fucked and drank my way through that year and it worked pretty well. But of course that didn’t last either.”
He took a few deep breaths, ignoring the tears that were starting to form in his eyes. He was rushing to get everything out before he wanted to give into those emotions.
“I tried to kill myself again,” he blurted out,”Nearly worked as well if it hadn’t been for Aemond finding me and rushing me off to hospital. I was forced to go to therapy after that, it was either that or they were going to keep me there so…I went. And I still go to this day because…well, I still need it and I probably always will. Those days when I didn’t contact you or came to see you…I wasn’t avoiding you or growing bored with you, I was with my therapist because…I was really struggling.”
He looked down and you watched as his tears finally fell.
“Why didn’t you tell me any of this, Aegs?” you whispered, surprised to find your own voice shaking with tears as well.
“Because…I didn’t want to burden you with any of that, and I…I didn’t think I could ever make you as happy as you made me.”
You were clinging to his hand, fighting to hold back your tears, trying to be strong for him.
“I don’t drink anymore though,” he then added with a sad little smile,” I’ve been sober for a year and three months now. I always get my own drinks at every party now because I need to make sure they’re alcohol free, it’s like…a placebo of some sorts, I guess. In the public eye I’m still the party boy and people don’t ask me questions about why I don’t drink. And I don’t have to explain to them why one drink can mess me up so bad. It’s just…easier that way.”
He looked up to meet your eyes,”Only Hel and Aemond know about this…and now you.”
His thumb was rubbing your hand again and it made a shiver run up your spine.
“Thank you for telling me. All of it, Aegs. It means so much that you trust me with this."
“Just thought you deserved to know, after…everything, you know.”
He leaned a little closer to you and you had to fight the urge to wrap your arms around him and never let him go again, but before you could even consider that Aegon was talking again.
“This is why I don’t have a job, or a relationship or even friendships that last very long because it’s just too hard for me to maintain. When I said I couldn’t be what you needed I…this is what I meant. I’ll never be the guy you can take home to your parents because I’ll either disappoint them or I just won’t show up. And you’ll never be able to start a family with someone like me or rely on me because…I can’t even rely on myself, let alone take care of someone else…you deserve someone who can give you all of that. Someone…like Sihtric.”
You sighed deeply.
“What about what I want?” you then asked, looking into his eyes and Aegon did nothing but stare back at you, surprised by your words.
You shook your head,”Have you ever asked me if I even want a family? Because I don’t, Aegs, I’ve never wanted kids, that is not…it’s not my dream or my goal. Neither is having a man to take care of me, I can take care of myself just fine.”
Aegon’s lips curled up into a smile at those words.”I know you can,” he whispered.
“Depression doesn’t scare me,” you then added, softer,”my shoulders are strong enough to let someone else lean on me, I can take it. And I don’t run when things get hard, you should know that by now.”
Aegon nodded and then all of a sudden he started crying uncontrollably, giving into all the emotions he’d been holding back, no longer caring to hide his tears from you.
Your hands reached for his hoodie, grabbing it to gently pull him closer to you. He followed your lead, carefully and a little hesitantly he buried his face into the crook of your neck, his tears warm and wet on your skin. When your arms wrapped around his shoulders in a soft hug he gave in and grabbed you waist to pull you close and hug you back, so tight and so hard it took your breath away for a moment but you didn’t care. You knew right then you would never let him go again.
“I’m sorry,” he sobbed against your skin,”I’m so sorry, sweetheart.”
You cried at his words and hugged him closer,”It’s okay, we’re okay, Aegs.”
You let him cry and held him through every last wave of it, caressing his back and hair as he kept clinging to you, until he eventually leaned back to look into your eyes.
A soft smile played on his lips when you ran your hand through his short hair again.
“You like it short like this?” he whispered softly.
You nodded your head,”I love it, it really suits you.”
Your hand cupped his face and he closed his eyes and leaned into your touch, making your heart melt.
“Aegs,” you whispered,”I…I…”
You struggled to find the words and Aegon opened his eyes, his gaze intense on yours when he asked softly,“Do you still want me?”
“Never stopped,” you whispered .
There were tears in his eyes again,”Even now? After everything I just told you…do you still?”
You nodded and then his lips were on yours in the softest all consuming kiss, taking what he’d been craving every single day since you’d left. It was slow and unhurried, not demanding anything other than this. You opened up for him, just as eager as you always had and Aegon took the opportunity to kiss you deeper.
You couldn’t recall how long you’d sat there, getting lost in his kisses, his eyes, his hugs, letting every lingering touch from him erase the time apart.
“Listen, I know you have plans tonight,” Aegon spoke softly after a while, taking your hand in his and kissing your knuckles,”But…can I take you out tomorrow? Just the two of us, no audience or distractions, I have a lot to make up for.”
”You can take me out tonight,” you smiled,”I’m sure Hel will understand something came up.”
***
After finishing the sushi you and Aegon went for a walk by the river, he bought you ice cream and held your hand and every few minutes he stopped your walk to pull you into another sweet kiss. You could feel your heart starting to heal little by little.
When he walked you to your apartment afterwards you didn’t even hesitate.
“Come up with me,” you breathed against his lips.
“You sure?” he asked,”We can take things slow if you want.”
You shook your head and grabbed his hoodie again,”I don’t want to take things slow. We’ve lost enough time.”
He smiled relieved, grabbing your waist to pull you up against him. “God, I’m so glad you said that,” he grinned,”Because I fucking need you.”
His lips claimed yours in another kiss, this one demanding and hungry, and he backed you up against the door, moving his mouth from your lips to your neck, open mouthed kisses marking your skin until your eyes closed in a soft moan.
He kissed your jaw and brought his lips up to your ear, his voice suddenly lower than before,”Better open that door or I’m taking you right here, sweetheart.”
Your hand was shaking as you unlocked the door, Aegon’s hands firmly on your waist, pressing himself up against your back until you took his hand and pulled him up the stairs with you.
He waited patiently until you opened the door of your apartment, as soon as you were inside his hands were back on you, pulling you into his embrace. You hugged him back and for a moment everything stopped.
You’d missed him so much and now he was here, clinging to you as if you were the most precious thing in his entire life.
“Aegs,” you whispered, burying your face into the crook of his neck and breathing him in.
“I’m here, baby,” he soothed you, caressing your hair and hugging you tighter,”I’ll never leave you again, I promise.”
He cupped your cheek and leaned back to look into your eyes,”Wanna take this over to the couch?”
You shook your head and leaned into him, fingers digging into his shirt,”Not the couch…I need you in my bed.”
Aegon didn’t say another word as he followed you to your bedroom, his eyes never leaving you as he pushed you down onto the bed and kissed you, slow and deep, while his hands roamed all over your body, touching every little piece of you he’d missed so much.
He pulled down the straps of your dress and softly kissed your shoulder. ”You look so fucking gorgeous in this dress,” he whispered into your skin, pulling the fabric down even further to expose your breasts,”Fuck…I need you so bad, baby.”
His lips latched onto your breast, sucking softly while his hand massaged the other one. You moaned his name and grabbed at his shoulder, encouraging him to suck harder and your back arched off the bed when he did.
“Fuck,” you whined.
“That feel good?” he smiled.
“Hmm,” you bit your lip and moved your hand into his hair again, pulling him into another kiss.
His hand moved down your stomach to grab at the hem of your dress and push it up, exposing your panties to him. He was teasing you, caressing the inside of your thighs and your hips. Everywhere except where you ached for him the most.
“Please, Aegs,” you begged.
“Please what, my sweet girl?” he teased with that adorable smirk.
"Please touch me.”
He indulged you, moving his hand over your panties and teasing his fingers over your folds. Another satisfied grin on his face when he could feel you soaking through the thin fabric.
He kissed your neck while he moved two fingers over your clit, circling slowly.
“Take them off, please,” you begged.
“You’re so impatient,” Aegon purred, continuing to tease you though your panties while he whispered into your ear,”And your pussy's so fucking wet…she really missed me too, huh?”
“Please,” you whimpered, hating the fact that this was now the only English word you seemed to remember but you didn’t care, you just needed him.
Aegon kissed his way down your chest and then your stomach, lowering himself on the bed as he pushed your dress up even further.
“Where are you going?” you giggled.
”I think I have a few things to make up for, with her,” he grinned up at you and then pulled your panties down, shutting you up instantly and when his mouth landed on your clit you fell apart almost immediately.
“Oh fuck,” you whimpered, hands desperately clutching at the sheets as he started eating you out,”Aegon…oh my god…please…don’t stop…right there, yes…oh god…”
Every word and every moan slipping from your lips encouraged him to keep going and when he started fucking you with his tongue he could feel your entire body convulsing against him. He didn’t stop, holding you down while he pushed two fingers deep inside you, curling them just the way he knew you liked and pulling another orgasm from you. The way you kept crying out his name made his heart soar.
He licked you through your orgasm before moving his way up again, locking eyes with you.
“I think she forgives me,” he teased with a cheeky grin, licking his lips and then finding yours in a deep, filthy kiss.
“You’re so stupid,” you laughed into the kiss but reciprocated, tasting yourself on his tongue. After a while the kiss turned softer and sweeter and then he leaned back to look at you, a serious look in his eyes.
He grabbed your hand and held it up to his chest.
“Do you?” he then asked sweetly,”Forgive me?”
His voice was so soft and so sincere, even shaking a little as if he was afraid you would still say no and pull away from him in this moment. You were quick to nod your head and ease his worries,”I forgive you, Aegs.”
The relief flooding his features made you smile and he pressed his forehead against yours, making your heart beat uncontrollably fast when he whispered the next words.“I love you, sweetheart.”
You both stared at each other, no more hesitations on his face this time now that he finally gave into his feelings.
“I love you too, loser,” you whispered back with happy tears in your eyes, putting the biggest smile on his face.
“I love you,” he then repeated, putting soft kisses all over your jaw and then your neck,”Fuck, I love you.”
You both laughed and then you wrapped your arms around his neck to hold him close, bringing your lips up to his ear.”Can we fuck now? Please?”
Aegon nodded eagerly, quickly pushing his pants and boxers down to free his cock, the urgency suddenly overtaking you both. He teased you by dragging the head of his cock over your clit repeatedly, making you beg some more and then he was inside you, stretching your walls so perfectly you couldn't hold back your moans any longer.
His eyes met yours, holding your gaze as he slowly started thrusting.
“Keep looking at me,” he breathed into your mouth,”God…you look so beautiful like this…taking me so well, sweetheart…fuck…”
Your nails were digging into his shoulders when he started moving faster, hitting you deeper with every snap of his hips.
“Fuck,” he moaned,”Oh god, I won’t last, baby…it’s been too fucking long.”
“I know,” you nodded and whimpered,”It’s okay…let go…I’m close…I’m so close, Aegs…”
He kissed your neck, his pace picking up fast and it didn’t take long before he had you right there with him, sending you both over the edge in one of many orgasms that would follow that night.
***
Waking up with Aegon in your bed was the best morning of your life so far. His eyes were on you the moment you opened yours, finding him smiling adorably at you while he played with your hair.
“Morning, girlfriend,” he teased.
“Morning, boyfriend,” you grinned and turned on your side to face him,“Were you watching me while I was sleeping?”
He nodded softly, letting his thumb brush your cheek,“I was contemplating waking you up with a kiss, Sleeping Beauty style.”
You smiled warmly,“Why didn’t you?”
“I didn’t want to freak you out,” he explained while moving closer to you, one arm draped across your waist, pulling you into him,”Can I do it now?”
You nodded and he leaned in, pressing his lips to yours in a soft kiss while his hand moved underneath your top to caress your back. Goosebumps erupted all over your skin at his touch and you put your arm around him to hug him back.
“I could get used to waking up like this every morning,” you sighed happily.
“Me too,” he smiled before leaning back to look at you, fingers tracing patterns over your lower back.“I love you so much,” he whispered softly and your heart melted again.
“I love you too, Aegs,” you caressed his neck and his hair.
“I’m nothing like the princes in those fairytales though,” he then pointed out while looking at you, insecurity clouding his beautiful blue eyes again.
You shrugged.”Fairytales are overrated. Besides, why would I need a prince when I have a whole king?” you teased with a smile and much to your relief Aegon laughed.
“Hmm, King Aegon does have a nice ring to it,” he then said, softer, and he leaned in to place another kiss on your lips.
“Just promise me one thing,” you asked,”No, wait, two things.”
“Anything,” Aegon whispered.
“That you won’t let anything stop you from loving me this time.”
He kissed your jaw, slowly, and then your neck,”I won’t,” he breathed against your skin,”I love you. Today and tomorrow and every day after, whatever happens, I love you, sweetheart.”
You smiled and bit your lip when his hands moved down to your hips, pulling you up against him, letting you feel his morning erection.
“What’s the other thing?” he asked before placing more kisses in your neck, making you melt into him.
“I’m forgetting,” you breathed and closed your eyes in a heavy sigh when you felt his tongue caress the skin just below your ear.
Aegon halted his affections for a moment to look at you,”What’s the other thing, sweetheart?”
You held his gaze for a moment before you spoke, softly,“That you’ll let me love you…and you’ll accept that I love you exactly as you are.”
“Flaws and all, huh?” he whispered quietly.
“They’re not flaws to me, Aegs. They’re you. And there is no part of you I won’t love.”
He softly nodded and looked away from you for a brief moment. When he looked back up there were tears in his eyes.
“And when you’re feeling low I want you to know you can tell me,” you added,”So I can love you a little harder on those days. Can you promise me that?”
“I will,” he whispered and he leaned close to bury his face into the crook of your neck, his hands warm on your back while his tears spilled on your skin,”I will, I promise, I will.”
You hugged him close, wrapping your entire body around him, knowing with all your heart and mind you would never let him slip through your fingers again. And Aegon was clinging to you in return as well, putting more soft kisses in your neck and on your jaw to finally return to your lips where he lingered a little longer.
“I love you,” he breathed into the kiss, and he couldn’t help but smile because the words came to him so easily now, just like breathing.
Loving you was the easiest thing in the world.
Letting himself be loved, that part was still very much a work in progress and probably would be for quite some time. But he was ready to try. And with every loving touch from your hands, every warm kiss and sweet affirming word from your lips Aegon was a little closer to loving himself as well.

Jaya this Jaya that
Nya Nya nya
don’t get me wrong, I feel awful for our girl but can we also please talk about how this is effecting the other ninja??????
Like for cole it must be awful because just earlier in prt1s2 he was telling bonzle and Zane a story about how they decided to get some noodles because of a crack that looked like a bowl of noodles!!! They are literally best friends! Cole has probably been so excited to find Jay so they can catch up and everything! He probably would have even wanted to introduce his misfit family and Jay to each other! Do you realize how many stories he’s probably told his little family about Jay???? like geo’s reaction to seeing Jay working with ras, he definitely knows that Cole is definitely heartbroken.
and Lloyd. Fsm, poor Lloyd. Jay was like a brother to Lloyd, Lloyd was definitely the one who introduced Jay to Fritz donagan ( don’t know how to spell it) that was probably actually the thing they bonded over, besides video games, all those memories they made together? Gone. Jay was there when Lloyd found out he was part dragon and oni!!!! He was the first one to ever know. And now it’s like they never even met. You cannot tell me that they don’t have a really tight bond because Lloyd was the first one to realize just how far gone Jay already was during fight. but Lloyd doesn’t seem to ca- SHUT UP! No. Just because Lloyd has lost so much he doesn’t want to give into the false hope Jay was at the tournament or he didn’t go after him with Nya because he’s trying to stop the bad guys so there is a world for Jay to return to them in isn’t something you get to use for your excuse. Lloyd knows exactly how it is to lose someone you love like that. To lose family to the enemy. So shut it. He lost his father on- no twice! To . Evil. And almost Zane to a similar fate. And now he is losing Jay.
Zane? Zane knows exactly how it feels to lose yourself and be used for evil like that. Zane knows how it feels to be manipulated into believing lies like that. How such a horrible person can turn you horrible too. You cannot tell me that Zane wanted so badly to get that wolf mask away from Jay because he knows exactly what it feels like to be corrupted by power like that. That he wanted to go after Jay and help him. Zane may not seem as human as he did before but that doesn’t mean he also isn’t going through some things! Zane has no idea where his own lover is and himself must be worried so much about her safety. I can imagine that he’s worried she might also have suffered a similar fate, because we all know it’s very possible.
and Kai? Jay was also his brother. They might have not always got along but they both always wanted the best for Nya. And now Jay doesn’t even know who she was to him. We haven’t seen a lot of Kai or how he’s feeling but I imagine that he is hurting a lot from it. And at the same time he’s trying to be strong for Nya and Lloyd. Because no matter how much he is hurting he will always put them first. Not only that but Kai also knows what it’s like to be corrupted by power like that. That power like that is always poisonous. Kai has already seen so many of his family suffer so much pain. Can you imagine how scared for Nya Kai may be, because it’s kinda like watching Lloyd trying to get his father to remember how he loved Lloyd. Except with Nya and Jay.

I am not a baby!! (yes you are)
(Ao3) (Masterpost) (Previous) (Next)
(Chapter 14)
Damian was fighting for his life, for his dignity! Uproarious laughter rang in his ears, his siblings cheering for karma.
“This is the best day of my life!” Tim cried. “The tides turn! It’s a miracle!”
“I let him win!” He defended, watching the hatchling swim around.
“Sure ya did,” Jason added sarcastically.
“He’s smaller than a Mesmer! You’d have to be an idiot to think I couldn’t defeat him!” The hatchling is tiny, likely twice as fragile as the rest of his clutch despite his ferocity.
“Can we please not goad Damian into killing the guppy?” Dick admonished, the eldest being the only one of his siblings with sense.
“I’m just saying, a hatchling got him to back off twice,”
“I didn’t want to crush him!” He snapped, “What was I supposed to do?” Damian could’ve easily snapped his tail and thrown the hatchling away. He just didn’t want to hurt the guppy.
“I get it. Babies are a terrifying force to be reckoned with. We’re all glad you escaped with your life,” Jason teased with faux sympathy.
“He didn’t scare me! And he sure as the Lava zone didn’t defeat me,” He screeched, tail thrashing back and forth through the bright red grass of the grassy plateaus.
“Listen,” Tim started. I know how hard it is to admit defeat,”
“Of course, you know how to admit defeat Drake,” Damian interrupted. “But I wasn’t defeated, so I can’t relate,” He sneered.
“It’s worse than we thought,” Tim replied sadly, “He’s in denial!”
“I am not in denial!!” He roared, startling the hatchling. The hatchling fled his nest, swimming back into his egg.
A noxious cloud of decay spilled into the water. A putrid scent of death assaulted his senses. Worse than anything a gaslopod could shoot out but still appealing to the scavengers of the shallows. Blood clouding the water smelled too rotten to belong to the living hatchling but was similar enough to send his heart racing.
Often these eggs hatched one or two babies, the amount of viscera spread out through the shallows was enough to suggest two babies had been inside that egg. One child rotting before they even got a chance to hatch.
The living hatchling emerged alone once again… Depressing.
“What're we going to call him?” Dick asked.
“The girls would be pissed if we named him without them,” Jason added.
“They should’ve been here if they wanted to name him,” Damian said. “ They have no reason to be mad at us for their tardiness,” He finished.
“Disrespectfully, I don’t want to die,” Jason said.
“Can we at least discuss names?” Dick whined.
“You haven’t even met him!”
“Only because you’re hogging him!” His older brother pouted.
“He’s very stab happy, would you rather I let him swim to you and attack a reaper on the way?” Damian sniped back.
“I’d rather you let us help you guard him,”
“No! I’m perfectly capable of watching a hatchling,”
“…but he stabbed you?”
“Just a scratch, barely a concern,” Damian defended, “A tiger plant could hit harder than he did,”
“I for one, vote we keep the stabby teenager away from the stabby baby,” Tim suggested.
“Shut up or I’ll teach him to stab you on command!” Damian sneered, cutting off the bond. He needed time to think.
Damian turned, but the hatchling was nowhere to be seen. His blood froze, gills flaring. No no no no no no no, he couldn’t be the one to lose this hatchling. Father would never trust him with anything ever again! Shooting over to the little one’s nest, Damian tapped on the barrier.
Tap…Tap…Tap…
Nothing
Tap…Tap…Tap
Again
Tap.Tap.Tap.Tap.Tap.Tap.Tap.Tap.
Faster, more consistent, he braced himself for the hatchling to shoot out and start mauling him again. Still nothing, not a peep or shuffle.
He lost the hatchling.

Like hoarding shiny things, and having a tail and hating random plants and squid 😭😭😭😭 idk I’m just hoping that something in this magically inspires your brain BUT feel free to ignore me
(I also really wanted to initiate ur ask box lol)
~ 🌷 anon <3
Why hello there tumblr user who i have also never spoken to! i hope this is uh,,, acceptable.
it was so hard to find a title for this oml
"my natural form...?"
zhongli x gn!reader
genre: fluff, pure unfiltered fluffiness, such fluff, many fluffitude
word count: 500-ish
tags: retail addict zhong bc we love to see it, possessive zhong, zhong hates fish zhong, protective zhong (hes a cutie patootie guys omgomomgomgomgogmogmHDKAJH), venti makes a cameo/reader is a traveller but not tHE traveller bc THEYRE MINORS I REFUSE TO WRITE THAT. thats kinda it
tw/cw: possessive dragon boi, it lowkey seems like lightly toxic behaviour but i think thats it
a/n: i wrote a little smol bit of this every night this week so its maybe a bit disjointed but whatever. this was fun to write ty tulip bb. zhongli is the cutest im so sOFT FOR THIS MAN AAAA. also send me asks, ples, pls, plsssssssss, pls.
dragon!zhongli who will buy pretty things without even realising that he quite literally has a retail addiction. will put things in random places in your house then get really confused when you move them. he keeps closely monitored stock of everything.
“darling, have you seen my golden vase anywhere”
“which golden vase?”
“the one i purchased last week, at the market”
“i put flowers in it, it’s in the kitchen”
“okay, okay, good”
“you seem awfully worried about it”
“i am not, i simply… wished to know where it was… is all.”
“i see.”
dragon!zhongli who is lowkey possessive over you but refuses to admit it, also he feels that jealousy is not a good shade on him. But he’s a dragon, and you’re his most prized treasure, so it is only natural to him to protect you, right? it can’t be helped. he's got a really good sense of smell, so he can always tell who you’ve been around in the past few hours, but won’t tell you because he's afraid it’ll freak you out.
(side note: he totally loves your scent and will compliment you on it all the time, like he’ll bury his head in your neck to calm himself down omg)
“my dear, who was with you earlier?”
“the guild had me teleport to mondstadt for a commission, why?”
“nothing my love, i simply- nevermind”
you look him in the eyes doubtfully
“tell.”
“alright. you were with the anemo archon, yes?”
“i was. i was sent out to windrise to fight some hilichurls, i ran into him and he helped me defeat them, why?”
“nothing, darling. the hilichurls didn’t hurt you, did they?”
“when has a hilichurl ever hurt me?”
“it is difficult to argue with that logic.”
dragon!zhongli who despite literally creating the harbour, refuses to go near the markets. he cannot stand the smell of the seafood that the merchants sell, so despite trying to “blend in” whilst in his mortal form, he will rarely be sighted outside the innermost parts of the city.
“li’”
“yes, dear?”
“shall we take a stroll by the harbour? i have a free hour this afternoon and we should spend some time together. i haven’t spent much time with you this week, and i've missed you.”
“i have missed you too, love, however i think that-”
“you think?”
“i think that it is rather cold, down by the harbour. Shall we go to the teahouse instead?”
dragon!zhongli who is unconsciously protective of you in his sleep. he will wrap his tail around your form when cuddling, as a literal natural response. puts it around your waist and between your arms whilst spooning you so you can hug it like a teddy bear whilst he puts little kisses on your shoulders as you doze off. tells you the stories of years gone by as you sleep to vent his worries.
“li’”
“darling?”
“tell a story”
“must i?”
“yes, you must!”
“very well my dear, close your eyes.”
